McLaren P1 shot in Bahrain to celebrate showroom launch

A series of new images of the McLaren P1 hypercar at the Bahrain International Circuit have been released as the brand starts celebrations for the launch of its new Manama showroom at the Bahrain World Trade Centre.

The new shots show the circa $2 million 673kW/900Nm hybrid-assisted 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8-powered McLaren P1 at the Bahraini circuit, which will host the next round of the 2013 Formula One season beginning Thursday.

Joining the opening celebrations at the McLaren Manama showroom alongside the P1 – of which only 375 examples will be made – will be Jenson Button’s 2010 McLaren MP4-25 racecar.

The McLaren P1, able to hit 100km/h in under three seconds, 200km/h in under seven and 300km/h in 17 seconds, was unveiled at last month’s 2013 Geneva motor show, where it fought the 708kW/900Nm LaFerrari for top hybrid supercar honours.
