The VZ Maloo is not speed limited.The Maloo tested was stock,apart from the paint work (ads).
Fords are speed limited, so they could not reach the record so why try.The fasted man in the world has not raced every man, just those that think they are good enough.If there is a faster factory standed ute i am sure they would give the record a try.
I own a Maloo and do take it on the track,left my mate with a ford Typhoon for dead hope the Tornado is faster. Dont Worry about The maloo 0-100

I agree Bavarian. I’d also much prefer a car that accelerates quickly than one which is geared high to give it a greater top speed.

I believe that the HSV Maloo that set the record for the world’s fastest ute will be up for Auction aththe Australian International Motor Show in Sydney in October.

They just wanted to set the Guiness World Record. Doesn’t matter if only 3 other utes had every been tested, it would stand until something beat its speed. So Holden can rightfully lay claim to the worlds fastest ute, as even if there are faster utes out there, they have the Guiness world record.
