2009 Renault Clio GT face lift debut

The first official images of the face lifted Renault Clio have been released today ahead of the car's official debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

Adapting the new generation design philosophy which debuted with the Renault Megane, the other major development has come with the introduction of a new GT Sport model which promises to close the gap between the standard Clio and flagship RS.

Having won-over the media as one of the best handling light-hatches on the market today, the facelift introduces a far more dynamic look into the range to match its ability.

The new front end design incorporates a 'younger' iteration of the next generation Megane styling, with reshaped headlamps, a broader lower grille and slimline upper grille.

At the rear, the face lifted Clio features redesigned tail lamps and a newly design bumper with integrated fog lamps and reverse lights.

Interior changes include the availability of new trims and the addition of a more affordable satellite navigation system - effectively an integrated Carminat TomTom device.

The model which features is these launch images is the new GT model which provides the missing performance link in the Clio line-up.

Sitting just underneath the Clio RS, the GT model boasts a more aggressive appearance with extended side sills, a glossy black grille, twin exhausts and a lip spoiler - available in an exclusive body colour, Malta Blue.

Renault will release full pricing and specifications after its public launch at the Geneva Motor Show.
