This is a good partnership, they can have a great product and maybe a unique one plus increase of sales too. We all know that GM needs this. Hope this will be a success.

Cmon guys give China a break, yes they are underpar to the the rest of the fully developed world, but they need to play catch up, its going to be rocky and full of mishaps, If the quality is good enough for the Chinese people then so be it, if the majority of the market is aimed outside of China then perhaps a stupid move by GM...

The Salesman - well depends if any other global brands are already in the pickup market there... If GM were the first then perhaps this can sway the observant consumer to purchase a 'Real' western global brand developed car, instead of the shocking knock-offs flooded in the market.

Agree Devo, only reason why they want to build em there is because it's cheaper and they don't have to give a flying F%&k about the poor workers on the shop floor.

Kind of ironic that workers are being screwed in a Communist Country but then again ever since Margaret Thatcher workers have been copping it in the neck everywhere.

China - where the quality control is as good as their workplace safety standards. People who purchase these cars will forever have the feeling that somebody may have died or lost a limb in making this vehicle. Slavery is back!!!

It will be about as American as sushi. China is already flooded with too many car makers. Do GM really think they can sell in this market?

Lol

GMC, also sounds like that dietry nutrition and supplement store found in shopping centers...

Agree somewhat Flying, but perhaps GM is trying to attain a big foothold in the chinese market, perhaps the perception is reversed?, china feels that their products by itself (brand) is second class to those in the rest of the world, and bringing GM would up it?

Manufacturing in China, as Toyota and VW already know, does not help in the 'quality' area and neither compnay will produce their 'premium' cars there. GM does not need any further help in downgrading the perception of quality on their vehicles, so probably not the best move.
