Porsche Cayenne Diesel on show at MIMS
Porsche Australia will display its new Cayenne Diesel at this year's Melbourne Motor Show, but only for the first three days.
The Cayenne Diesel has been introduced in response to strong local inquiry, and will share the Porsche stand with the second generation Cayman and Boxster.
Cayenne Diesel features a 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel engine producing 176 kW of power and 550 Nm of torque as well as an average fuel consumption rate of just 9.3 litres per 100 km.
The new Cayenne Diesel will go on sale in Australia in April 2009, priced from $101,990 with Tiptronic transmission as standard.
Also be making their Australian debut are the second generation Cayman and Boxster, offering an impressive combination of more power for less fuel, with all-new engines, more power, improved fuel efficiency and the introduction of Porsche's acclaimed double-clutch gearbox.
Now displacing 2.9-litres, the newly developed flat six-cylinder engine develops 188 kW in the entry level Boxster and 195 kW in the entry level Cayman, an increase of 8 kW and 15 kW respectively over the preceding 2.7-litre engine models.
New Cayman and Boxster models are due to go on sale in March this year.
