2008 Honda Accord Coupe

April 16, 2007 by Alborz Fallah

Honda has not sold the seventh generation Accord Coupe in Australia. Whilst the standard Honda Accord is made in Thailand (like the Civic) the Honda Accord Euro, the more popular model, is made in Japan (the price difference is roughly $3,500 between the two for the basic model).

At the North American Motorshow, Honda America showed of the 2008 Accord Coupe:

Whilst there are currently no plans to bring the Honda Coupe to Australia, perhaps a positive response from Australian customers might make the Japanese manufacturer give the Coupe a chance.

Below you will find some spy shots of the accord taken a few days ago in the states:

Each to there own, i think it looks like a hunk of junk and a big hunk at that! Now the first shot (silver one) looks ok under lights and on stage but the ass end of this thing does it no justice at all.
God the guys at Honda have had a run of bad luck with their designs i tell ya what if the designers for Honda fell in a bucket of tits they would come up sucking their thumbs….

I dont like the front, but otherwise… its okay, it would be unlikely that a coupe would come to Oz.

The whole thing looks very Americanised… the back looks crap, the front looks ok but certainly nothing special. Id take a Ltd Edition Euro over it anyday… way better looking car.

Looks kinda dull, but doesnt the back have masking over it? Not the best design ive seen but when it comes to new cars which are borderline on looks, i prefer to see it a lot more before i make up my mind. for me, this is one of them

I liked the 2008 Honda Accord Coupe Concept pictures. Once I saw the pictures I wanted the car. The pictures make the car look so nice and differnt then what it actually looks like in person. When I went the 2007 Auto show in NY I went to see the 08 Accord Concept and was disappointed in how it looked. I no longer want the car. The pictures showed the car completely differnt.. The car looks so akward in person.. Go for the new 2008 Nissan Altima coupe instead.. The car actually looks just as good in person as it does in photos.Sorry bad one for Honda….

I currently drive a Honda Accord Euro Luxury 2006 model and love it. It has all the equipment of a european luxury car and not the european price.

I was saying the other day that a coupe from Honda in this format would be great. The Integra doesn’t cut it, but the Accord Euro looks like it would.

Yes I would buy an Accord 2008 coupe if Honda Australia decides to bring it here.
I have worked for over 20years in the car audio industry and I can say for a fact that many of my clients also would consider purchasing one if given the opportunity.

They have to bring the coupe to Australia. I have the 2007 Euro, its a brilliant car but it lacks sleek exterior styling and sophistication. The coupe on the other hand is more along the lines of BMW and Mercedes, timeless and sharp. Bring it down under please.

Def lack of coupes in Aus. We just need to look at the success of the BMW coupes in Aus. For those who cannot afford one, Honda will be able to provide one with simliar qualities and the driving experience. If Honda brings it here in Aus, I’m 100% sure it will be a success.

Bought my 2008 Accord VTiL last month. Beautiful car, BUT, yes BUT, first week passenger sunshield where the mirror is, shattered without reason, and it take 3 weeks to order from Japan a week later the driver side FELL OFF its hinges! Reported to Honda Australia and all they did just a standard answer email, no one call, maybe just my bad luck, I had a new CRV and Jazz previously, no problems, I wish they would call and offer some kind of complimentary service or accessories to replace the inconveniences caused. Other than that, I love the car. Yes I got the beige (Bold Beige) with ivory leather, I have to ordered the ivory all weather matt and door protector from the States as Australia dont have any, a usual.

in my opinion the new accord coupe looks great. I would be pleased to see it imported into Australia as I want to Replace my Honda Legend coupe with a new luxury Honda coupe as my current car has proven to be a fantastic car that is extremly reliable and enjoyable to drive. Plus Honda needs a coupe back on the market now there is no Integra, Prelude or Legend coupe.

it would be great to get the coupe to Australia.
we need a replacement for the prelude and this would be a great opportunity for Honda Australia to take.
They should bring a few in stages like 10 per month and see what interest prospective buyers have with the vehicle.

Why are so many great coupes sold only in a lame 4-door version here in Australia?? It’s f_cking ROCK-BOTTOM!!!
Please, give us some decent looking (and performing) coupes like this. Pfft…No more s_it PLEASE!?!!

I have one of these now and I absolutely love it. I have almost everything in it excluding nav, and bluetooth. It is a 4 cylinder but it does have power. Compared to my ‘06 base Cobalt it’s 100 times better.
I’ve had a few problems with the bumper not staying exact and moving a little and a few problems with the interior which were fixed under warranty.
Other than that I haven’t had any problems.
