2009 AC Schnitzer X6 Falcon
February 4, 2009 by George Skentzos
When you hear the name Falcon in the automotive world – in Australia at least, a hulking great tuned BMW X6 is likely to be the last thing on your mind.
The AC Schnitzer X6 Falcon follows the styling features of its X5-based sibling while building upon the inherent performance dynamics of the new BMW X6.
The already impressive handling of the X6 has been further improved with countless laps around the North Circuit of the Nürburgring by chassis developers and engineering director Manfred Wollgarten.
The aerodynamics package, styled by chief designer Michele Viandante includes a front skirt with integrated air intakes and repositioned fog lamps, a dynamically contoured spoiler edge and rear skirt painted in body colour throughout.
With some of the best petrol engines in the world, only the diesel models have so far been tinkered with the 30d and 35d up to 200kW from 173kW and 228kW from 210kW respectively.
A twin-flow exhaust system from AC Schnitzer Racing Design is also added which produces a far deeper engine note with dual chrome exhaust.
The wheels are AC Schnitzer 22-inch custom alloy Type VII design available in either black or silver.
RamSpeed Australia will have the AC Schnitzer X6 Falcon available by March 2009.

I like the standard X6, but that is the most ghastly car I have ever seen. I would feel less embarrassed driving a Perodua than I would driving that. It is almost the least tasteful tuned car I have seen. Truly horrible.
Looks beautiful. Just remove the gold please.
Anything based on the grotesque X6 can only be even uglier than the original, and this monstrosity proves it.
Where I live, the populace has better taste than to be seen on the street in something as vulgar as an X6, but at Christmas I was at a resort town where bad taste is on display, and I saw my one and only X6 in the flesh. In pictures it’s bad enough, but you’re never quite prepared for the sight of one in full size.
I’m still trying to recover from it. With a bit of luck, the Global recession will be the end of this dreadful one way track towards a market segment that doesn’t exist.
I don’t see why you’d want a X6 over a X5. The X5 is cheaper, better looking IMO and has more space (plus the option of 3rd row seating).
Myke you are so correct, and the apparently fantastic 4WD system which is the only positive feature of the X6 could easily be adapted to the X5, but that won’t happen for a while because they want to sell a few X6s to those who would pay a premium for a sack full of steaming dog turds if it had a BMW badge on it.
Oh so this is the new xr6 then?
I misread Schnitzer X6 Falcon as Schnizter XR6 Falcon…
Wasnt my face red…
Yep, remove the gold and this thing will look HOT!
Remove everything good and it looks like the last limited edition BF GT they brought out….
Captain, what do you drive anyway?. I fail to see ANY ugliness in this car. This AC Schnitzer car is truly unique and just drop dead gorgeous. Who will be selling this car? Ramspeed ? In terms of taste, of course, this is in the eyes of a beholder. BMW or Schnitzer are not in business of loosing money, I’m sure. There is room for X6 in this market as well as tuning or individualising mass production cars, so bring on th X6 Falcon I say. I’d rather be seen in this than a standard X6 anytime. After all, many (if not most) buy cars to reflect their individuality. Give people choices I say, market will sort out the good from the truly ugly like a KIA Sportage for an example.
No accounting for taste Screamer, are you a AFL player by any chance?
Its truly awful looking machine. Looks rather like it’s had a cheap tack aftermarket boy racer add-on kit screwed to it. A truly foul affair, how could BMW let this happen. Can’t surely be real, is it April 1st already.
I still do not see the point in this car (if u can call it that). If you want performance get a 335i or a 135i, If you want a coupe get the Z4 and if you want space get a station wagon. This, the X3 and X5 are all pointless vehicles, cant go offroad, useless in the city and ugly to boot.
HOw ironic Anti-spam word is BMWM5
I totally agree with Screamer ! AC Schnitzer is No 1 and its about time they hit our shores professionally. I believe this car is a concept car for show, that is why the colours – yet, I am all about driving a personalised car, not one from the band.. average settings, looks, handling – that is not me! For BMW, AC Schnitzer is the BEST ! German, quality and good looks, if you ask me-there is nothing better then AC! Good on RamSpeed that they focus only on German brands and market leaders – its simply best quality. No surprises.
I agree – remove the gold, and this is a beast.
I’d love to know what the naysayers above drive…
Gah, that is fugly with a capital fug. The front end looks like it’s melted in the sun.
ummmmm, nah ! Hamann BMW X6 TYCOON looks heaps better.

leave the gold and take away the rest i think.
This just concretes the saying ‘Money doesn’t always buy taste’.
If anyone asked me, in my opinion, who makes the worlds most revolting looking cars, I’d straight up tell them BMW

Some might also say the French…
Yeah, Bavarian Missile, the brand you are talking about is some 20 grant more expensive than AC Schnitzer, talk to RamSpeed, they are introducing AC Schnitzer Falcon X6 soon – which looks just like it should – not over the top. just right.
