Alfa Romeo 4C interior revealed

The interior of the Alfa Romeo 4C has been revealed ahead of the car's upcoming Geneva motor show unveiling, with the Italian manufacturer releasing a series of new images.

While several new exterior shots show more angles of the two-seater sports car first shown in production trim last month, the new batch of Alfa Romeo 4C images shows the high-quality red-and-back-themed interior for the first time.

Inside, heavily bolstered black seats with red stitching, black door trims with red surrounds and a conventional handbrake lever and a flat-bottomed steering wheel with gear shift paddles accompany high-gloss carbonfibre touches on the door well and centre tunnel separating driver from passenger.

A brushed aluminium panel bearing the Alfa Romeo 4C’s name is inset into the clean black dash while the company’s badge is embroidered in red into the headrests of the seats complimenting the stitching.

A 1.8-litre direct injection turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine will power the rear wheels of the four-metre long, two-metre wide Alfa Romeo 4C via a dual-clutch automatic gearbox in a combination that aims to see a power to weight ratio of less than 2.96kg/kW.

The compact mid-engined 4C is to be produced in the Maserati plant in Modena, Italy, before going on sale later this year.

The 2013 Geneva motor show kicks off on March 5.
