Holden VE Commodore Wagon & Coupe
April 13, 2007 by Alborz Fallah
When we posted a spyshot of the new Ford Falcon, we were inundated with angry ford fans discrediting the photo being a ford. We agreed and it was removed within the hour.
So before we repeat this incident with Holden fans jumping up and down, let us reiterate, the following images are computer generated.
We previously posted a photoshoped image of the Holden VE Commodore Ute, which generated a great deal of interest.
The photo was the work of Robert B and he has now graciously blessed us with images of what a VE Wagon (above) & Coupe (very bottom) will look like (click on images for a larger version):
The VE SS Wagon variant in multiple colours:
It is a shame that Ford & Holden have decided against V8 (or Turbo 6) wagons (who knows, an SS version of the VE wagon might be in the works), there seems to be a great deal of interest in performance wagons, you only have to look at the Audi RS4 to see it.
But to so save the best till last, what the new Monaro or a HSV Coupe could have been:
Holden has not yet announced a firm date for the arrival of the VE Ute & Wagon. And there is definitely no plans to bring out the beauty shown above – yet.

The coupe looks nice, but the back reminds me of a Volvo. The wagons should look a lot more sportier than before and will be built on the normal Commodore wheelbase I think.
These pictures look like they have been designed by a 16yr old kid.
Just kidding Red, very nice.
I’ll take two coupe’s, 1 black and 1 red.
now that I look at it, the back of the wagon looks like the Saab 9-3 wagon, they really have the swedish theme going on.
I agree with Myke, it really looks like holden designers are copying other brands. The Commodore sedan looks like a blend of lexus IS250, Ford Falcon and old Commodore, and now the wagon is copying the Saab!
Guys, it’s just a photoshop, nothing official from Holden.
So calm down :P
LOOK OUT Simcoe,….we’ve found your replacement !!!Coupe de thrill, good work Red, love it !!
Great work Red, when you gonna do some Chops for me ?
i love them, my 2 brothers want hte cars there bloody awesome the monaro is sexy and so the wagon
Top work as usual Red.
That is the most awsum monaro ive ever seen! i really hope it ends up lookin as good as that if they make one. WHICH THEY MUST! because they r legendary cars!!!! but if i cant get one, i will have to get a HSV Grange instead! most expensive holden ever! woot!
‘Redoctober is a spastic parrot.
no the wagon is way off….i attended the Melbourne Motor Show, and I inquired about the new VE Wagon…the helpful guy told me that the wagon IS on the sedan’s wheelbase (expected) and that the wagon would beome much more like a hatch-back style wagon…low, chopped roof…these photshop images show a much-higher roof than what he visulised to us
wagon will be revolution in design…hopefully bumper dosnt look as big as in above image…loven the coupe though!
I just wish Holden would hurry up and build the VE wagon before I have to go and buy a Territory or Mazda or Subaru to replace my V8 VY wagon, which is what a lot of Holden wagon owners have already done.
Their decision to just leave us in the lurch sucks.
Cheers
OHHHHHHHHHHH MY GODDDDDDDDDD I LOVE THE RED IT LOOKS JUST LIKE MY VY COLOUR AND I LOVE THAT.I JUST WANT ONE MY HUSBAND LOVES IT TOO HOW BLOODY GOOD IS THE MONARO,HOLDEN NEVER STOP MAKING THERE CARS GOOD THE ONLY DOWNSIDE TO THE VE WAGON IS THAT IT WONT BE COMING OUT IN AN SS MODEL OR A V8 THATS WHAT ID WANT IN THAT CAR
I strongly agree with “Still Waiting Holden!” (May 11)
After being told from a holden dealer last Oct/Nov that the new holden wagon would not be released until the middle of 2007, i thought ok, i’ll just have to wait.
Now after making an enquiry a couple of weeks back to the same holden dealer, they told me that it wont be available until some time early next year???
Honestly holden….if you cant provide an accurate ETA or even a squizzy at whats to come…you cant blame us for going out to purchase a ford Territory!
Yes i’m frustrated!
Daz.
well go buy your territory daz and others cause my guess is that you will like it better. i think holden rushed to get the new holden out (hence why no ute or wagon yet, thats right the lesser selling of the commy’s) I think they tried hard to get it out in front of the upcoming falcon and wanted to get some “wow new release” sales on it and probably didnt want to share the spotlight with the new falcon. my money is that falcon will have it over the commy in about 90% of areas, and the other 10% will pretty much be areas that come down to personal preferences. this could see a lot of quality issues with the new comm too
I am also waiting on a new wagon, and am also getting impatient with being mucked around by Holden.
I really hope they dont cut into the load space for style reasons. Have those designers ever taken kids away on holidays?! That’s why people buy wagons with space -so you can fit kids stuff in!
Man, that Coupe looks bloody awesome! I would definitely buy it if Holden built it! Good work mate!
Wagon looks good.
Guys who are waiting on a new waggon ute..
It took 9 years for the VE.. The ute and waggon less.
Oh and the AU-BF still have quality issues and problems just encase anyone thinks a new model is supposed to be bullet proof.
went to the local holden dealership in canberra the salesman told me that the new ss utes will be on sale in the first week in september,i have ordered one my self which i will be getting in december in purple
The coupe [Monaro] is expected to make another comeback however; it won’t be until sometime after 2010 – around the same time as the compact [Torana].
The coupe will be built on a modified Zeta platform same as the upcoming Camaro.
There are reports that because the Camaro will be built in Canada that the Monaro will be built there too
Yet others are saying that LHD versions will be made in canada and RHD versions in Australia.
Theres a better [photoshop]images of the coupe at http://www.cgiautomotive.com
I would imagine it won’t look anything like a 2 door 2006 VE Commodore though ,if it’s not coming till 2010!
It should look fairly similar as the average life cycle of a model car in Oz is apprx 10 years.. so I can’t see it changing that much. Infact being just a couple of years away I expect Holden have signed off on the overall design already
I work at a Holden dealership, and I can tell you, the ute ain’t coming till late this year, theres been some design faults they’re still playing with.
The amount of people interested in them is absolutley ridiculous, as soon as they are released, they’re gonna fly out of the showrooms for sure! So get your orders in now I’d say to avoid further waiting.
I’ll pass thanks. If I wanted a ute I’d get one that can actually carry a proper load. To me, having to use a trailer defeats the purpose. If you want something sporty, at least a sedan has more seats.
people are taking this wayy too far people they are just cgi’s…………………………………still looks awesome though:) i want one of them coupes theyre awesome yes ….but just cgi’s
dude u havent even seeen one of them utes to say that u will need a trailer. the backis huge, way bigger than the falcon, and the wagon is just awsome, cant wait to c when ppl customize them, and that coupe, omg, that is fuking awsome, i hope to hell that it gets released because im gonna buy 1 for sure, they are awsome, oh and does any1 no when the new falcon is coming out cooz i havent had a god laugh for a while
Super Maszyna Ja sobie nie kupie takiego Bo mnie nie bedzie stac nigdy.CHOC TO MOJE MARZENIE
Hehe, they got a Commodore base and photoshopped the top half to look long and then just added the Saab 9-3 wagon tail lights.
Come on CGI, dont u think its a bit obvious? Come up with your own ideas, not just copy/paste.
I’ve owned over 30 cars in my time. A few Holdens and Fords and I’m sick of buying puss boxes with recalls and manufacturing flaws. Just face it we can design cars in OZ but we can’t build them reliably. Leave vehicle building to the Japs, German’s and Sweeds.
If Holden can’t get their act together and release cars on time then don’t give them the business.
Ever since I tried a Subaru, I can’t justify an Ozi money pit vehicle.
I’m glad they are not releasing fuel guzzler V8’s or 4.0L 6 Turbo death machines for the safety of our kids.
I admit I was a petrol head in the 70’s with 351 V8 Ford Capri’s, 2 door Ford Landaus and Torana XU1’s with 308ci conversions. When fuel was 50c a gallon and no road rage. But we need to think smarter and more efficient. A 3.0L refined Turbo diesel engine with gas injection (HPDI) is the way to go.
Where Subaru lack is a big enough wagon to fit 3 kids across the back seat. The answer was the Holden ADVENTURER! PERFECT WAGON NOW OBSOLETE! IDIOTS AT HOLDEN! Listen to the people Holden, give them what they demand and you will win market share…you fools!
A TURBO DIESEL 3.0L with simultaneous gas injection AWD soft roader SUBARU WAGON the size of a Holden Adventurer IS THE PERFECT FAMILY CAR!
I give credit to FORD for the Territory (especially turbo model) but the engine and reliability are outdated.
WOW i love the coupe – if they had it our now i would go get one – but 2010 – HHHMMMMM
