Next Generation Holden Astra
June 7, 2006 by Alborz Fallah
This is what the new Astra will probably look like, thankfully its not from Korea! So you can be assured that it won’t explode when you reverse into a pole. The New Astra is based on the Vauxhall Antara, which coincidently was made by former chief of design at Vauxhall, Martin Smith. I say former because he has now moved on to other things, more specifically, Ford. Nevertheless, the Astra won’t look EXACTLY like that, no one really knows how it will look or when it will get here, but Holden knows the sooner the better as the Toyota Corolla and the Mazda 3 lead the segment by nice margin.

That’s actually not the new Astra. That’s an OPC Antara Concept. The Antara being a cosmetically modified version of GMDAT’s Captiva, soon to be launched here as the Holden Captiva. The current AH Astra has still got a while left in it’s life, with the H7 facelift coming in 2007.
Forgot to add to make it clearer that the Antara/Captiva is a completely different car to the Astra.
Perhaps you forgot to read the post? I was simply saying this is what the astra will be based on
Nah I did read the post. How can a new Astra be based on the Antara considering they are two seperate cars? Or are you just refering to the styling? There’s no fully new Astra planned for release for quite a number of years yet.
