McLaren celebrates 50 years with trio of short films

McLaren has released the first of three specially commissioned short films telling the story of the British brand to help mark its 50th anniversary.

The first film, entitled ‘McLaren 50 – Courage’, shows the ghost of the company’s founder and namesake Bruce McLaren at age 32, retracing his steps to the scene of his fatal crash in his M8D Can-Am racer at the Goodwood circuit in 1970.

McLaren Group and McLaren Automotive executive chairman Ron Dennis explained that while McLaren’s history was a long one, its legacy was harder to define.

“Bruce McLaren wrote the beginning of the story, and the legend is going to continue for many years to come,” Dennis said.

The following two short films will be released at later dates as McLaren celebrates its significant milestone.
