the best configeration for natural balance and hence revs is an inline 6 – this is an engineering fact. ps i drive a bmw so i have no fav with either holden or ford ( however i do like the new commodore sportwagon)

why is the 6.7Litre Inline six Cummins engine so successful,

its because of its Inline Six nature, long stroke , diesel technology and its size!

6.7Litre Cummins that makes 882Nm from 1000-1500rpm will beat any V8 engine up to 12000cc.

Just because of its Inline SIX nature.

ps: a quick subject change.

they say that 200kW Aurion has effortless performance? yea sure.

with the final drive of 3.665, it sure does over 2400rpm at 100km/h in 6th.

while any 4 speed Falcon from EAII to AUIII to BFII to Orion 5 speed, does under 1700rpm in the top gear at 100km/h.

thats what i call effortless performance.

There are things called STANDARDS and REGULATIONS, if Ford wanted, they could have tuned their I6 from BA that made only 156kW to around 200kW, but as i said before their 182kW was allrady de-tuned from some 220kW.

So in essence, TP talks too much crap once again. You can not compare the inferior V6 technologies with poor torque by nature to real type of engines such as I6 or INLINE SIX.

The LPG inline Six 3984cc Falcon Ba from late 2002 to the current ORION make 365Nm from just 1250rpm, YES from just 1250rpm.

Now i’d like to hear a healthy argument that can beat that.

365Nm from 1250rpm to around 2100rpm , and then a flat curve of 375Nm from 2700-3500rpm.

Beat that!!!!!, no V6 unless turbocharged or supercharged will match the NATURE of inline six architecture, especially at the 4.0Litre capacity.

Get your facts straight, do your reasearch, sell that crappy commodore, and buy a real car, buy a Ford Falcon!

And the only thing thats American in it is the badge.
But its 100% Aussie.

An old EL 4.0L OHC keeps up with anything under $300000, think about it.

We all know that the I6 engine is a real engine. How does a I6 with a stock Factory LPG 4.0L that made 156kW/375Nm sound like when supercharged to 340kW/620Nm, and it only costs $30-40 a week to fill up and eat all those crapppppaaadddores!

Duel fuel is a compromise? Hmm news to me, being able to use both fuel types AND have less loss of power (Commodore loses 10kw on LPG while Falcons loses an embaressing 40kw)…. sounds like the Falcon system is the compromise!

LPG on VZ!!!

In my handbook in the glovebox of my VZ it says under NO circumstance you should convert the alloytec V6 to LPG.

Is this true????

its 1L difference.

the ford and holden approach to LPG is totally different.

ford provide LPG with the ideal mechanical setup, but with an out dated method of injection.

holden just recommend a duel fuel (compromise) set up, but with a higher tech brain injecting the fuel

holden doesnt offer a factory fitted LPG system.

yes the one “recommended” for the holden does have more power because ford hasnt upgraded theirs for years.

the funny thing is though, that fords system delivers better fuel efficiency?????
