2007 Mitsubishi 380 Series III

As mentioned previously, the struggling Mitsubishi 380 is set to undergo some minor cosmetic surgery, with the new and improved 380 (named Series III) set to hit the showrooms in July. Currently the 380 goes to around 1,000 new owners per month, not a bad figure, but no where near Mitsubishi's expectations.

However, since Mitsubishi are not exactly making billions of dollars a year, the changes are not that extraordinary. All you get is a new nose, some new wheels, paint colours and some trim upgrades. The 380 is still driven via the front wheels and powered by its 3.8L V8 engine (175kW @ 5250RPM and 343Nm @ 4000RPM). There are currently no pictures of the revised version available

There are some manufacturers such as Porsche who have over 10 different variants of the same car (specifically the 911), whilst Mitsubishi is not as bad, with 5 models in the 380 lineup, there has been some internal pressure on Mitsubishi Australia to cull poor performing variants. Mitsubishi currently sells ES, SX, VRX, LX and GT variants of the 380

Whilst for the poor few who paid the $35,000 price tag back in 2005, Mitsubishi will continue to keep the entry price of the 380 Series III sedan at just $27,990 for the entry model, putting to rest fears of a further price cut (hurting resales and the brands image)
