Both the team’s race drivers, Fernando Alonso and Nelson Piquet, were on hand this morning to take the covers off their new challenger as they joined Managing Director Flavio Briatore for a photo call with the R29 in front of the team’s pit garage.

Renault are the only ones to keep the shark fin so far.

Frugal-One: The only way Ferrari will be 1st and 2nd every race is if the FIA helps them like in previous years. They don’t have KERS and their testing times are way down.

A distinct lack of ceremony in these pictures.
Practice with spending cuts look to be limiting any fanfare & stage lights in the Renault camp.

Toyota have been testing the shark fin in Portugal. Can’t wait for the 1st race!

Why can’t we have live telecast of every race? You don’t even get live telecast of bloody Foxtel, what a disgrace. I’ve been to Malaysia and even they get to watch all races LIVE on free to air tv! In WA, the delayed telecast usually starts at 11pm and useless Channel 10 would rather show lame old programs than to the most viewed motorsport championship in the world! rant over.

Try Channel 10 HD. In ’08 coverage started earlier, so more interviews, better qually coverage etc and most races were live.

Zorro: Except if you live in WA and then you always get delayed telecast. Live European races in WA would be great to sit down to eat dinner to.

Allan: Bernie asks way too much money for Foxtel to buy the rights. I love watching the live MotoGP and SBK races on FoxSports. If Foxtel got F1, Every sunday night during racing season I would be glued to the TV for hours at a time.

I laughed for a couple of minutes when i heard Flavio Briatore saying Renault is one of the favorites for this year’s title since they had 2-3 good races at the end of last year and they scored the most points. I think they could win 1-2 races, but they can’t compete with McLaren Ferrari or even BMW.
