The design is expected to be radically different from the current model, emulating Hyundai’s recent reputation for impressive design and economy.

While it will be a far cry from the current model, Hyundai decision makers have apparently opted for a more traditional and ‘safe’ design for its new crossover rather than a more modern approach.

Inside sources suggest the new generation Tuscon will be powered exclusively by a range of diesel and petrol four-cylinder engines in both naturally-aspirated and turbocharged guise.

The current tuscon is ugly i bet this car comes out good.

  2. Mark B says:

Looks like they’ve taken the profile of the current Elantra and added a few inches to the bottoms of the doors and ride height…

No bad thing. But the Tuscon has always languished at the bottom of the soft-roader pile in terms of performance and perceived quality, so fingers crossed Hyundai can claw back some ground. Maybe they can turbocharge their petrol 4-cylinder a la CX-7, instead of offering a piddly little 2.7-litre V6? They’d be silly not to.

  3. Alex says:

If they manage to pull of some sort of SUV i20 look than I’m sure it will look great. They should also put the 1.6 diesel in it. It would be a bit sluggish but it would be very economical and quite affordable.

  4. Deags says:

Korean cars getting some style? Quite interesting. And what will the new name be if it is not Tucson? Maybe i-30X?
