The MAIN reason you buy a hybrid is the fuel superior economy.

The last week leaked brochure/data on this he haonda showed that even though [shock horror!] they copied the SUPERIOR Prius [and the old model at that!] it STILL uses more fuel than the Prius.

I put that down to a BIG FAT FAIL!

I read that Honda are taking on Toyota seriously and selling this for £2000 (~AU$4000) less than a Prius. Its what the market want, despite the non-starter for fuel consumption compared to a diesel.
This Honda is also a far better performer than the current Prius getting more miles/gasllon (or less litres/100km if your that way inclined)

Although better looking than the last prius, i think the new prius is better looknig than this. The back of the new prius looks much sleeker than the insight which looks too tall and square.

Darren, i think the interior looks pretty good actually, i think that starting with the current civic, honda has the most interesting and best interior of any brand in the price range. Yes, audi make some fine interior, but they are much more expensive than honda and they are not direct competitors.

I find the green ‘eco’ button an interesting feature, when driving this car, you’ll be too distracted by all the flashing lights and graphics to maximise fuel efficiency, instead of concentrating on driving.

That has to be the worst interior I have ever seen. Honda needs to buy some Audi’s to see how to design properly.

The front end looks good… the rear looks like the previous Prius with a clear composite panel (quiet new to mass production vehicles actually), my company is investigating its application on more daily vehicles/mass production cars.

Looks good.Definately better looking than the Prius.The new Prius look like it has a tumour growth on the front.
The Prius has always been ugly and now Toyota has moved the ugly game a notch up!

The tech talk sounds great but I’ll be interested to see the real world figures and costs.
I’d still like to see more of the FCX Clarity fuel cell car. Its potentially possible to buy a hydrogen generator unit so you can refuel at home. Imagine a clean running car that costs a few dollars to fill and you can do it at your own house. I guess the government won\’t want that to take off. They can\’t get big revenue by taxing the fuel.

It looks like a four-door Honda CRX(88-93) not a prius.
