Fudge that's a lot of power, even if the acceleration figures don't agree with it.

625Nm from 2500, that's 6th gear 110 highway acceleration covered.

It does beg the question though, can this really be better than the RS6?

For me, the GT-R and the Caddy CTS-V are the market changing cars. Both priced above $150K (i'm guessing here for the CTS-V however US pricing would point it towards the C63's $144K or even the IS F's $129K). The CTS-V is the wildcard here though, you can almost buy a CTS-V AND a GT-R for the price of the RS6 ($271K) yet the CTS-V will (out)run rings around the RS6. Given all this, this Jag if it wants to 'compete' with the German's (as stated RS6, M5, E63 etc.) then it's got a hell of a lot to live up to to be worth buying over the already smile enducing RS6 or the more obvious choice, the CTS-V (fastest production sedan ever says something).
(Just bring the damn CTS-V to Australia!)

Then you might say it's probably more luxurious. I'm not one to disagree in this department but remind me again why you wouldn't buy the SV8 for it's 'sporty luxurious' credentials?
GS F anyone? =P

I...must...have...one...of...those...

I suspect $250K or so for one of these, so there will still be a market for the current V8 ($145K) and SV8($180K). Dont know about that fuel economy, though. I can only get my (4.2 V8) average down to aroud 13L/100km after a few hundred k's highway driving.

i agree the last pic clearly looks shopped.
the shadow looks wrong and with that much lateral carrying that much apparent speed there'd be some smoke.
Lovely shape though and great engine.
Turbins off to them.

I love this car, immediately it tells me Jaguar are climbing back on their feet and are having a go at the Germans and fighting back well. It's just so beautiful, smooth, elegant and makes an awesome noise. I always find myself sticking up for it when talking about it with my mates.

Though one question this new 5 litre engine will replace the old 4.2L... does this mean the old 4.2L will depreciate hugely? I'm not so sure. I hope it does (sort of) because I can't afford one at over $130,000.
Should I wait till mid-2009?

nice...

HOWEVER not the biggest fan of those wheels.

bif fat 5 spoke wheels similar to that of the normal XF (but with the spokes not as chunky, and in 20" guise not 19's) would look ace, and more 'sporting'...

still beautiful.
