No body buys Nissans made in the UK (Dualis) and Spain (Pathfinder). Probably that's why Nissan's cutting thousands of jobs in UK and Spain.

Aurion TRD dropped from 75k to 55k in less than a year before it's demise.

Anyway any Nissan is a better proposition than equivalent Toyota. Nissan build quality makes Toyota look second rate.

Forza M
The Cerato will have a strong price point. I am guessing under $18,000 drive away. For a 2.0ltr thats great value.

All above,
Please note i did not rubbish the Tiida as a product. Just the decision to change the name and the sharp price drop.

salesman that is the biggest load of shit i have ever heard on this website, and believe me i have read plenty of rubbish on here. For starters the Pulsar nameplate was not used in any other country bar maybe NZ in the world.
Secondly the Tiida may be an averge car but let me ask you how your bucket of bolts Cerato is travelling? Even though your new model looks great i bet it will be under 16k in three months because it is a Kia. Enjoy pal.

Salesmans rant over, Names! things move on.

Job losses - no big shakes really, Nissan ramped up production of the Quashqai to meet demend, now they are ramping it down.

OK Salesman, fair point, but really nothing to do with the Sunderland operation.
Pulsar was a humdrum car, a reliable tool for the blue-rinsers at the head of every traffic queue at the weekend, but quite why they would give it's replacement the name Tiida is a mystery.
But whatever they called it, the Tiida's lovely smooth Renault-derived ride quality would never compensate for the fact that it looks like a shed. So that was the end of that.

Why oh why change a name with a 30 year history? Who was the bright spark that scrapped Pulsar for Tida? Yes this has no relevance to the current economic woes of the world but i bet it cost Nissan thousands of sales and millions of Pulsar owners thousands of dollars in re sale value. Great way to give your loyal customer a swift kick in the wallet. I was at the official release when dealers applauded the announcement that Tidas price starting only at $19,990.00 + ORC would be a class leader with top gross and we wont discount it!!!!!. A shaky reception from the buying public and three months later it was $17,990.00 drive away, great job Nissan, I am sure your dealers and the few people who paid top dollar to be the first to own this new little gem are really impressed.
Tida means ever changing tide, maybe this has some relevance in the Nissan boardrooms.
