Yeah your right Tom...............

Ive got all the Top Gear DVDs and Jeremy's cant remember seeing that one ! Is it new ? Ill have to down load it ;)

Still cant believe out of all the great cars that were released last year Clarkson picks a Vette!

Quote " so the ZR1 reigns, even though "it's not built very well." In Clarkson's words, it is "both docile and extraordinarily savage," looks good, goes fast in a straight line and around corners, "most of the time bumbles about like a forgetful uncle," and costs "lots for a Corvette" but is a bargain for the performance. His only lament about the car was this: "unless the healthcare and pensions company that makes it can be turned around, it will be the last of the breed." The ZR1

Sorry, but JC also adores the GT-R. And Top Gear COTY 2008 is actually the Caterham R500.

I myself haven't drove the GT-R nor the ZR1, so I can't make such comments as "ZR1 being more comfortable than GT-R". Anybody here drove these 2 cars on the same road on the same day at the same weather conditions? I don't think so. So we can only go by reviews, and the review I would trust the most would be CA. They've already done the GT-R, how about doing one for ZR1?

Bavarian Missle, you are talking about clarksons review of the z06, not the ZR1.

Watch the episode were they go to the US, and drive the Challenger, CTS-V and ZR1. Clarkson absolutely adores it.

HSV has clearly had a few lagers for breakfast but we should not forget that W427 aside HSV provides some pretty good bang for buck!

I checked site from Japan....
Four carbon-ceramic brakes set cost 470,000 Yen (A$73,000 !!!)
Carbon fibre race buckets seats from RECARO 1090,000 Yen (A$17,000) each !!!
Put them on HSV... Would be better than GTR? NO !!!

The ZR1 is superior because it drives like a proper sports car, it looks like a classic coupe, has a 6 speed manual transmission and RWD, it is praised for how livable it is day to day, and yet how ferociously fast it can be with simple adjustment of the right foot.

Clarkson named it his car of the year for 2008, well and truely over the GTR.

The numbers speak for themself, its acceleration, and particularly breaking times, lateral G. Not to mention the fuel economy it can pull in cruise mode.

And its clearly faster than the GTR\'s questionable nurburgring time.

This is all taking aside the emotional aspect, such as its styling, and sound.
