It better have better tail lights than the last two generations: they were opposite to the smooth, curved Golf design and ruined the whole thing for me.
Agree 100% they looked so out of place for the golf range.
The rear of the current Golf wagon really kills it
doesnt look any different to any other past generation golf
If it has the same matching interior door handles as the hatch this time, I’ll be looking at this as a family car replacement to my Golf in a few years time.
The rear seems like it will resemble the Passat more than before.
yeah which is a good thing
Hot weather testing?
It’s just a bit bigger Golf.
I just wish they’d bring out a Jetta Wagon and leave the Golf alone – a practical Hatchback!
Lol, wouldn’t a Jetta wagon be very similar to a Golf wagon?
seems to be a 13kW and 50Nm increase in power/torque for the 1.4l turbo. ‘boot space’ is still down on Jetta, and Octavia sedan (hatch) and wagon.
In the USA this is sold as a Jetta wagon – that is because the Jetta outsells the Golf and is the volume VW car, whereas here it will be a Golf wagon because Golf is the mainstream model.
I’m really keen to drive the new Mk7, but the VW fanboys are very offputting. I hope we get the next Phaeton here, the last one was one of my all time favourite cars.
Iam keen to drive the new crummerdore wagon but the fans are boring , maybe we will get the chev impala , love FWD big cars .
And here is proof positive. I’ll have to agree with Poison Eagle’s comment.
Looks the same as the current one….lazy VW design
The New Octavia wagon will be larger, better built going by the current Mexican wagon and have more features. Tough choice for the VW fanboys!
Golfmother is a large load gurgler.
I hope VW uses the Passats 118 TSI engine as it can run on 91/95 RON and is less stressed. If the 8 speed tourque converter auto was used I’d sign up for one. This drivetrain may be a chance for the US market.
