No mate, your just taking the piss out of p-platers here. You cannot honetsly say that you have never been over the speed limit by one measly kilometer. And why target p-platers with these stupid statements???? I am a p-plater myself and I think I speak for all p-platers here when I say that we get over taken everyday by people with their full licence doing an easy 20km over the speed limit. But still p-platers are targeted for speeding, hooning, failing to stop at stop signs because we have no patience BLAH BLAH BLAH.... the list goes on. We are targeted, penalised and stereotyped for everything. Fair enough we come up in statistics like we do but thats because the focus is ALWAYS on p-plate drivers... Where are the satistics for all the fully licenced drivers and their fair share of fatalities on our roads???
No don't worry about them because we have p-platers to blame for everything.
And we don't get to choose how long we are in training before we are allowed on the roads without being supervised! The government does all that. So maybe you should start up a forum about the government with all these smart assed comments because I'm sure there will be plenty to comment on. If there were advanced driving courses available and advertised to the public, then maybe we could make a start on actually trying to make our roads safer.

If you r going to ban them from one then why not ban them from all... its only fair.

The government needs to stop spending all this money producing more speed cameras for our roads.. they do NOTHING. Just recently someone I know got a speeding infringement in the mail and it wasn't even their car that was speeding, it was the one beside them but the camera didn't pick that up.
We should be spending more money on red light cameras at traffic lights! I saw at least 7 cars in a time frame of 20 mins got through a red light. Orange means SLOW DOWN.... NOT SPEED UP!!!!!

I have a simple solution for p platers.

100KW per tone

Caught speeding 1km/h over the limit, yes that is correct 1KM/H! you loose your licesnce for LIFE, crush the car, no excuse who's car it is, go jail for 5years miniumum every Km/h over add 1 year to the sentence, never ever aloud to drive or ride a motor viecheal again, EVER! $100,000 fine and every km/h over add $10,000 to the fine.

Caught dring while band for life, you go jail for life

Drifting
Hooning (burnouts)
Fail to stop minium 5 secs
Fail to indicate
Change lanes to fast
Accerltate to fast
Brake to fast
Brake Late
Seat belts
Pasanger restrictons
ANY! Moditfications, from performance mods to air caps to seat covers just to get the feel of what the term ANY modifications mean
Brake ANY rule of the RTA ruke book, and road rules

Same rules apply as above

Plane and simple!

throw a couple in jail, crush their cars, ban them for life

this will put the FEAR OF GOD into all P Platers

And watch, you wont even see a p plater on the road, they will be sayin, Mum Dad can you take me freds house tonite i dont want to drive

SImple brake a rule loose it for life and go jail

thats so true. u always here about p plate drivers crashing and its always a big thing on the news, but when an open license driver crashes, it just a quick segment and they move straight on.

yeh, the stats show that theres more chance of a p plater to crash, but they should still be doing stuff about all the open's that crash

Les, the reason P platers are targeted is because of statistics and inexperience. They make up 9% of drivers on the road, yet they account for 25% of accidents and fatalities. My guess is when they account for 9% of accidents and fatalities, the cops will back off a little and the government will ease the restrictions..

I lost my licence for doing 62 in a 60 zone, when i had my licence before the outragous speeding incident i could take one! of my mates home. now i cant take any of my friends or myself home from parties so they drive drunk. (if the government think that drinking in youth doesnt happen, its time for a change) i am restricted to a v6 it could do a top speed 170km/ph no problems at all so could my mothers 4 cylinder audi, like a v8 is going to make a difference. When i was on my learners i drove in a v10 BMW with a licenecd driver sitting next to me and only could do 80 on a highway with trucks hurtling past me at 120, 130. What is the point of having 8 cylinder and turbo restrictions when you can get 4 and 6 cylinder engines which have the same output as a v8. the mind boggles. I would also like to say there are some very narrow minded people in this, i would like to see if every black licence driver go for their driving test nowadays and see if they pass, i dont know of any black licence drivers who do blind spot checks. In addition put up with doing 90 everywhere-highways, back country roads for a year and have every police car watching your every move. you are pulled over constantly for random breath tests (which arnt so random) and you get fined all the time for having no p plates on when people steal them off your car. The media is continuosly depicting p platers as criminals, this propaganda, for some reason is accepted without question. In the country people depend on their licence to get them places because the woeful public transport systems where i live, well lets just say you would more likely see a polar bear pull up at your train or bus station than the actual thing. try seeing from the p platers point of view for once

Maybe.. but thats most likely due to the fact that there are simply more commodores on our roads - because of their simplicity and longevity

However; given that over recent years there has been a growing trend among P-platers who prefer 4 cylinder FWD/AWD turbo charged cars There'll be just as many riced-up Mitsubishis Nissans Toyotas etc
