Hmm I like the look of the bonnet scoop, but it still doesnt… portray that angry rex image that made me buy one!
Not as bad as 1st photos posted, but still not a *looker* in any shape of form
The WRX is a car that looks ok in certain colours and pox in others.
The silver is ok, the blue,,,,,arrrrrr no.
Hope the new EVO looks nicer [that should not be that hard]
The perfect WRX would be WRX drivetrain and build quality, with AlfaRomeo designed body…AMEN!
For mine i still want a Elfin, they are well advanced on a new model that will be selling for around $60k

That’s by far the ugliest car to enter any market. The must be smoking to much pot in the Fuji Heavy Ind.
The rear of the car has just been posted,
it is truly the final nail in the coffin for subaru – but it will attract a whole new set of buyers to the brand.. the same buyers that once bought Hyundais and loved the handling.
The back is exactly like the new Corolla. Truly the most average and sedated looking car Subby has created.
I think I’d rather have a MY96 model wrx with 15 inch wheels. That is hideous

i’ve been waiting almost a year to buy this new shape. how disappointing!!! i’ll have to get a used current shape now i think.
wat a shame, subaru i think could do much better, lookin back to previous designs. this looks like a family car, i mean they have that to show with the libertys, or outbacks or wateva. they should stick with the mean(angry)look, as wells as performance. i rather a 99-00 subaru wrx any day

looks like the sterotype of the drivers of WRXies will fade with this junk.
Subaru should be ashamed, they slapped a few cars together and called it a WRX. Looks like a cross between a few toyota models such as camry, aurion and corolla with a WRX bonnet scoop and WRX badging.
SHAME! NOT EVEN A 4 INCH EXHAUST ALL THE WAY THROUGH IS GOING TO MAKE DIS LOOK BETTER. BODY KIT ANYONE??
Hey please dont associate the Aurion with this car… the front is very Camry like (the previous generation) but I cant see any resemblence at all to even the current camry and defenitely not to the Aurion
Good GOD!… I drive a 98 Impreza RS with the original BAD BOY look for the impreza… ( honestly i think each year since then the design for this car just gets worse… the people crafting the new bodys for these cars clearly have there head up there ass and pay no mind to the fans of there cars.. it’s all about targeting a larger market now … i fell in love with the impreza RS / WRX before the fanboys and now to see them rape the respect this car has built over the years with such a simple looking craptacular design I just cry for P Solberg and C Atkinson now cause there rally cars are going to look sooo gay!
PS BAD BAD BAD SUBARU YOUR ALL FIRED!!!… get a real design team or start charging 13k MSRP for your shitty looking car
yes definately camry X corolla X hyundai for my money. they keep getting worse. yes give me a 98/00 mod anyday. thats the mod that got people noticing them.
hi, iam a big fan of the WRX, but this 2008 one has just taken the true look of the rally bread racing car, iam all for making a family looking car, but for all the people out there that want a race bread rally car for fanatic’s this 2008 doesn’t pertray the “angry” wrx look. i hope in 2009 Subaru go back to there roots and make a new and improved 2000 WRX..

(PS): iam in the market for a NEW subaru and i wouldn’t even look twice at the 2007-2008 model impreza’s, iam a die hard Impreza Fan, but last years and this years arn’t what iam looking for one bit!, but iam very pleased with the look of the new Evo..

Please this is a Mazda 323 look alike. What with those rear indicators?? and the all too obvious boot door???
And I find it hard to identfy with the restyled front grille and all.
I own Two “Subes”. And I park them in my lawn, and I’m proud of them.

The new shape is horrid. I own a MY04 Liberty GT and wanted another Suby for the garage – in particular the WRX STi but there is next to no chance I would want something that looks like those pics sitting in my drive – esp that hatchback Mazda look a like. F#@king Terrible. Sorry Subaru – but this is a Balls Up. And to think they are considering putting up the price of an 2008 WRX STi by $10,000 i.e. 69K on the road. You are KIDDING right?! HAHA – good luck getting that!
Dear All,
I drove the new WRX on the weekend and I have some really great news for you all, IT ROCKS!!! The confort, power, torque and overall driving ability of this machine is outstanding! I drove it up a 12 km steep hill climb and there it drove like a complete angel!!

Could this be Subaru’s “P76″
(Note: for those who don’t know what a P76 is it was Leyland Australias car buit in 1976 and was a real “Lemon”)
The drive might be absolutely out of this world, the comfort might be second to none, and safety could be the best in its class… But!
If the car looks ugly, My money is rather well spent on a previous shape WRX STi, that first caught my interest, and defines my interest on what a muscle jap car should be.
My car defines my personality, and my personality is based on modern and amazing designs.
Sorry Subaru, this has just spoilt my day… U design a car to compete with Golf, yet its falling in comparison to Hyundai/Corrolla/Mazda…
I’m all out to get the mitsubishi Evo X :) Australia, Please bring that model here for all decerning subi lovers… make us happy from this sad moment till subaru pulls up there socks.

Brought the new WRX 08 hatch even I think it looks bad lol, good comfort tho….
i bought the wrx. and trust me the pictures don’t do justice!!! the car is much better in flesh.. i have silver…, and it is a looker..
ahh dang.. they destroyed the new impreza. i grew to like the hatch but the back of the sedan looks like something kia or hyundai would come up with … lol gg impreza
