Subaru BRZ: extra stock headed for local showrooms in 2013

An extra allocation of 140 Subaru BRZ sports cars are expected to arrive in Australia in early 2013, bumping forward expected delivery dates for eager customers.

Subaru’s announcement of the additional vehicles for February and March, will mean anyone with an expected delivery date of May onwards can now expect their Subaru BRZ to arrive in their driveway early.

Subaru Australia’s National Corporate Affairs Manager David Rowley told CarAdvice that anticipated November 2013 deliveries have now been moved as far forward as September.

Following the July launch of the rear-wheel drive Toyota 86 sister car, the Subaru BRZ’s popularity has continued to grow, selling out all 201 initial cars in three hours via an online process and starring at Subaru's 2012 Sydney motor show stand.

“The orderbank is now around 750 cars (including our original allocation for this year of 201),” Rowley said.

Being built at Subaru’s Gunma plant in Japan at a ratio of 8:1 that favours the Toyota 86, so far this year Toyota has shifted 1485 versions of its twin.
