The brand new Jaguar F-Type has already created plenty of buzz over its design and performance following the sports car’s unveiling at last month’s 2012 Paris motor show and now a clip from the British marque gives fans the opportunity to compare two of its powerplants in an exhaust sound off.

The footage shows two alternate Jaguar F-Type models with two distinctly different sounding engines.

Jaguar F-Type - Red

The first is a Jaguar F-Type S powered by Jag’s 280kW/460Nm supercharged 3.0-litre V6 engine, while the second car is the big-daddy F-Type V8 S with its 364kW/625Nm supercharged V8 aurally exciting viewers.

The Roar of the F-TYPE

From take off to full throttle, both engines sound impressive spitting exhaust gases out through their tailpipes (which are Italian-made in the case of the V6), so turn up the volume and tell us what you think.

Following its appearance earlier this month at the 2012 Sydney motor show, the Jaguar F-Type is due to go on sale in Australia in mid-2013, with prices and specifications still to be confirmed.

Good god. Talk about aural sex. Nom nom nom.

  • Crummydore

    Gosh… hmmmm, both sound tasty.

Like the growl from the 6 as it heads off into the distance but the crackle of the V8 is very tempting.

Ahh, bugger it – I will have one of each!

If it lands under $100k I’m in

    • Nick

I wish. Sadly, there was an article on CA a couple of weeks ago that suggested “the entry-level Jaguar F-Type V6 would be priced between the $133,300 Boxster S and the $254,600 Carrera Cabriolet.”

    • Buddy

      you mean $200k.

  • Zahmad

The v6 sounds much more exciting to me for some reason!
