New Mazda6 coming in December

Mazda Australia has announced that the new Mazda6 sedan and wagon will go on sale in early December, months ahead of the expected release date in 2013.

Announced at the Sydney Motorshow minutes ago, Mazda Australia boss Doug Dickson, confirmed that Australia will become one of the first markets to get access to the company’s flagship sedan and wagon, with the vehicles expected to launch in around eight weeks.

Given the success that Mazda has had in Australia, with the company expected to top 100,000 sales for the year in 2012, the Japanese company decided to show its thanks by releasing the model early in Australia.

Pricing remains unconfirmed.

    IMO this would be the best looking car Mazda has made, how did they get it so wrong with the bt50 ??

       In its day the HD 929 was a looker. It also proved that Mazda could make a quiet car. I don’t know what has happened to them since!

      Your opinion but there is over 1000 a month getting sold and without major fllet sales….looks great, bold fresh and not as boring as the rest of the utes…..especially its cousin the Ranger

    in general, has the Mazda 6 had any links with the Ford Mondeo?  Over the years I ask that but not interested enough in the cars to suss out myself but has anyone think this car looks like the next Mondeo??

       A few years ago (previous model to the current Mondeo) they were based off the same platform. They also shared the same rear suspension design and the 2.3 engine that was in the Mondeo was a Mazda designed engine. There were also other little bits here and there that they shared.

          at least Mazda are releasing the car on time not late! the mondeo will be copying the mazda not the other way round
