Nissan Juke-R: tweaks for super-SUV as first customer takes delivery

Nissan has revealed the final production specifications and design of the Nissan Juke-R as the first customer in the world takes delivery of the supercar-crushing compact crossover.

Unlike the original Juke-R concept that was powered by the MY10 Nissan GT-R’s 362kW engine, the production model scores the latest version of the twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V6, which generates at least 404kW of power and 628Nm of torque (Nissan says the output of each engine can vary due to their hand-built nature).

The result is a street-legal super-SUV that sprints from 0-100km/h in just 3.0 seconds and powers on all the way to a top speed of 275km/h.

While the Nissan Juke-R is just shy of the GT-R in terms of performance, it humbles the coupe from a pricing perspective. At a dizzying £400,000 ($628,000), the hot crossover is almost five and a half times more expensive than the GT-R in the UK, or equivalent to 30 entry-level Jukes.

The freshly revealed production model sports cosmetic changes thanks to the boffins at Nissan Design Europe in the UK, including a redesigned front bumper, revised side sills, further-protruding tailpipes, and carbonfibre across the front and rear cooling vents, rear diffuser, steering wheel and centre console.

Nissan says production of Juke-R No002 is almost complete, with the second global customer preparing for delivery.
