Ummm the Aurion base model doesnt cut it? If your looking for a car to get from a to z… you get the same engine and trans across the range, the base model has loads of features for eg 6 airbags etc already so that isnt improved upon in the Sportivo etc. The Holden is the only major let down, very slow, 4 speed transmission, 4 airbags?, a/c wasnt std etc. Yet people and fleets still buy it!

Agreed. Most people whom buy the Omega’s are usually blokes whom have bought them for the other half and kids who think the world of Holden and have been encouraged by their other beer gutted mates. I like the mew SS commy but the base model in almost any range does not cut it.

Don’t worry, i’m guessing the confusion is probably more a case of “who gives a sh*t, its an Omega”. I don’t think anyone buys its for its 0-100. I’m guessing most Omega owners don’t who even know what the figure is, but most SV6 owners would have tried it, timed it and tried to beat it :)

Alot of articles conflict, NRMA asy 9.1… webwombat says 7s…. Im guessing because they use the el-cheapo stopwatch method which isnt accurate. But from what Ive seen majority say high 8s to 9s which seems more plausible considering its power and weight etc.

SV6 does it in 6.8 seconds per Motor magazine, so the Omega would be doing it under 8 seconds, there isn’t 2.3 seconds between them.

Hmmm… I just checked the VE Omega, and what do you know its 9.1! I think I was thinking of the Current Ford Falcon which does it in 7.9 seconds.. god the Omega is slow! Will adjust accordingly.

Well Ive read it mate from multiple sources… I think you are confused with the SV6 which does it under 8, the base VE, the Omega, does it over 8, supposedly 9.1seconds.

Its not slower then a base VE… they do the 100 in 9.1seconds. Suprised by the power of the turboed version, I knew they had abit but 360kw and 700Nm!!

the CX-7 is one of the best SUVs in the market, there is nothing else like it. Great looks, sharp pricing, sweet engine. It’s a shame the CX-9 doesn’t have the same engine.

The new diesel Toureg is the way to go IMO. I’ve got nothing against SUV’s. If people want to buy a big car and can afford the petrol then thats cool.

They are nice to drive in that you have plenty of visibility, plenty of room and feel a little more secure even if you actually aren’t in some cases.

I agree, if I was in the market for a car like this, it would either be the Cayenne S, (or the turbo if money permits) but if I was going to go after the V6 Cayenne, I would rather just go for the Volkswagen Touareg. The CX-7 is one of the best cars on the market today, essentially an AWD Turbo SUV for the price of a WRX... very very well priced.

Was waiting for this vehicle as was seriously thinking of it for wifey.But that was being a badge snob….

Its still way overpriced -v- cloned VW ToeRag, and bloody Subaru ugly to boot.

The STAR of the class and just fantastic ValueForMoney ratio, is the *real* Wheels COTY, Mazda CX7

$39,910 its a steal for what you get and will give the V6 Porker heartburn on the road or track…
