Tickets for the 2009 Deni World Record Ute Muster are now on sale with discounts offered to CarAdvice readers who pre-purchase their tickets before Christmas.

The event continues to grow each year with last year’s festival seeing 25,000 patrons attend and World Records smashed with 7,242 utes and 2,702 people wearing blueys (blue singlets).

In case you missed the action this year, CarAdvice was on hand to cover the event in a very tidy FPV F6 310 ute – click here – and will be there again in ‘09 to again cover one of the biggest and most unique motoring based events on the calendar.

Big plans are already underway for next year’s Ute Muster which is to be held on Friday 2 & Saturday 3 October, 2009.

Your ticket includes two days of non-stop entertainment, concerts and camping facilities. Children under 13 years are free.

Don’t worry Mitch there is already a place with a higher population of bogans permanently in one place… Adelaide.

  2. Mitch says:

Im not sure anyone should encourage that many bogans into one place at a time.

  3. realcars says:

    Sounds good.

  4. Wheelnut says:

A fairly high percentage of utes are bought by bleong to and are driven by Professional Tradesmen; people like carpenters bricklayers electricians etc.. People that can charge anywhere from $30-60 an hour

Mainly because there is a manual skills shortage in Australia and so many Aussies have [for some reason] decided to become Doctors Lawyers Accountants etc..

Which means that because Mr Legal Eagle wouldn’t know the first thing about electricity and because he works 25 hours aday when he has a problem he calls in a sparkie.

As the sparkie has the skills the knowledge and the expertise to do the job and Mr Legal Eagle doesn’t plus the fact that the sparkie is in such high demand due to the skills shortage.. the sparkie can charge $30-60 an hour

Therefore; there are quite a number of cases where the Tradie in the SS Ute is earning just as much if not more than the Legal Eagle in his BMW. Does that make him a bogan?

  5. Dlr1 says:

Driving a ute doesnt automatically qualify someone for bogan status. Just poking a bit of fun, remember, sarcasm? By the way could you also pass on the name of your sparkie? Mine charges $85 an hour. My accountant only charges $60!

  6. Bavarian Missile says:

I thought we had been over the meaning of bogan before !

”A bogan typically resides in either a low-cost housing estate, government housing or in the outlying regional areas of continental Australia. The bogan usually drives one of two makes of vehicle. Typically this is either a Holden or a Ford . Common bogan variants manufactured by each of these companies include the Holden Commodore (VB-VP models), Holden Kingswood and the Ford Falcon (all models up to the recent EF). Other well known bogan vehicles include early model Datsuns and Toyotas ”

    Got that clear !

  7. Bavarian Missile says:

I mean I live in a good suburb, the guy at the end of the street owns a BF GTP,a BF GT Cobra a top of the range 2008 X5 and his wife drives a 2007 CSL 500 Merc, the guys a wanker but not a bogan!

  8. Wheelnut says:

Yeah; thing is whenever there is an article on this site and the topic is about either a new Ford or Holden a group of people [mainly ignorant arrogant narrow minded Toyo-philes with their holier than thou attitudes] get on here and automatically label it a Bogan Mobilre and the people that drive them Bogans

At least Bogans are “secure” in knowing who they are and are proud of; not to mention grateful for what they have got..because they have worked hard for it.

Whereas your Image-Consscious Wankers in a 4×4 [which is usually a Toyota] are trying to be someone they’re not. with more money than what they’ve actually got.

Bogans aren’t trying to keep up with the joneses whilst ICWs are always trying to out do them.

Note not everyone in a Landcruiser/Prado/Kluger is an ICW …. but hey Fair is fair

  9. Tomas79 says:

Sounds like somebody has a serious chip on his shoulder, and should seriously consider seeing a shrink!!
Wheelnut please explain who exactly are those Toyotaphiles?
And honestly, isn’t it a much more common occurance on this sites for the falcadore lobby group to visit toyota articles, and bag it?!

Also wheelnut, welcome to 2008, if a tradie is charging only 30-60 an hour, he most probably isn’t very good!!

  10. Chris says:

Don’t worry Wheelnut, we all know that Toyota drivers are the real bogans.
It’s a well known fact Toyota drivers know nothing about cars, otherwise they wouldn’t have bought one in the first place, they buy Toyotas by default. Typical bogans are uneducated and know nothing !

  11. t says:

What a way to bring out the red in ur neck!!!

    im afraid not…..

i suppose they have room in the tray for all their sisters… i mean dates… .no i mean sisters..

    aww same thing

  12. Bavarian Missile says:

Hes reported and under a assumed name I hope banned! You know your insulting CA when your calling them red necks as they attend in a UTE too!

  13. Tomas79 says:

    T, so true!!

Bavarian Missile, bit of a hypocrite don’t you think??
Given how many of your comments had to be deleted just yesterday!!

  14. Bavarian Missile says:

Tomas you have been on here how many times today and not made one comment on cars just people…………T I take it was you anyways!

  15. Bavarian Missile says:

Tomas to save you the time on reporting me for nothing I will …………..

Ive had words to CA about you,the next Dingo we all think!

  16. Wheelnut says:

I would love to go to the Deni Ute Muster to celebrate Australias iconic UTE with other Australians that are proud of what Holden and Ford have achieved.

Next year its on the 2-3 of October which I think is a week or so before Bathurst if so I might be able to kill two birds with one stone as Bathurst is less than a days drive away from Bathurst..

I believe The Muster is one of those things Aussie car enthusiasts should visit at least once in their life as wel as go to the Clipsal 500; Bathurst 1000; Phillip Island Moto GP; Indy; Drive the Great Ocean Road; Drive across the Nullabor; Drive around Tasmania etc.

  17. Tomas79 says:

Bavarian Missile, so far you are getting your comments deleted, just like dingo did!! And no T is not me!!

  18. Tomas79 says:

And yes i did comment on cars today, so don’t BS!!

  19. Andrew M says:

    Dlr1,
the cost a tradie will charge you depends on the job at hand, and how long it will take him/her.

i mean if its only a quick job, 1-2 hrs, you could expect it to formulate to a rate of say $100 per hour to cover travel time and the possibility of that inconveinient job costing him the rest of the day, or best part of it.

if your job takes a full day or 2, then expect the cost to be formulated on a lower rate.

Please also consider overheads exist, and Profit is not a dirty word

  20. Andrew M says:

    Oh,
and how do 25,000 people fit into 7242 utes???
    ha ha ha ha ha

I’d like to inspect the trailer behind that red commy ute in the pic thanks……….
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

  21. Wheelnut says:

Quote [AndrewM]: how do 25,000 people fit into 7242 utes???

Well Andrew [and anyone else who is interested]:
That’s approximately 3.5 people per ute…. which means the utes must be parked side by side with 7 people all standing in the tray; 3 people on one side; 4 people on the other side; all with a foot in the tray of the ute they are standing in and one in the ute next to them
    - which would alternate in the adjacent ute [7/2 = 3.5]

[I know.. I know.. but I was bored so I thought.. why not?]

  22. t says:

    for starters folks

    they call themselves

    REDNECKS

  23. t says:

    ill also simplify it

not all ute drivers are rednecks.

but all rednecks are ute drivers :)

    that seems simple enough.

  24. Wheelnut says:

There are a few rednecks; country hicks or whatever you want to call them who drive Landcruiers too you know…

They’d have to as we are led to believe [by the Toyo-philes on this site] that the Landcruiser is morepopular in the Country as well than the Traditional Holden and Ford Utes.

I’ve recently driven across this wide brown land of ours and when you pull into a petrol station / roadhouse/ pub / motel etc there were a number of Cruisers with Bundy stickers Spotties numerous Aerials and RM Williams or Western Star Mudflaps etc [that you see on country utes] on them and the drivers wore their Akubra hats whilst inside the vehicle – making them look like Cowboys – just like their Counterparts in the REAL utes

  25. Andrew M says:

    wheelnut,
    you made it too complicated.
not everyone would have to have one leg in each ute.
    only the 4th person would.

I’d hate to be getting change from you at the checkout.

you would think you would have to give me 9 fifty cent pieces instead of 4 dollars, and then 1 fifty cent piece

i would shudder if the change ended in 5 cents

  26. Wheelnut says:

No you’re right Andrew. I admit; I made it sound too complicated.. but it was late I was tired etc and maybe I didn’t express myself properly so how’s this….

Have 2 rows of utes lined up nose to tail as if they were on a grid with – each line of cars would have 3621 utes in it

Then put 3 people in the tray each ute and an extra person stradling both utes [that is a foot in the ute on the left and the ute on the right] = 3.5 people per ute

I think that explains it a little bit simpler/clearer
