To Mark B, you do need to improve your car spotting skills. The DB9 is noticeably bigger that the Vantage and has a different backside, the DBS has many obvious ridges and air intakes in the body work not to mention different back lights and the Vantage is smaller and more compact looking.
Good for you for liking the Maserati more than the Aston Martin. Although I would take a DB9 much, much quicker than I would a Maserati, I agree that the Gran Turismo is very sexy (as long as you get the S version) and it too is a beautiful car. Does anybody else get the feeling that if the whole world were rich, 95 in every 100 would own an Aston Martin?

It is a delightful car to drive. I don’t like it in white because I don’t think white brings out it’s curves very well and it makes it look less stealth.
This is one the best looking cars in the world, however, I actually think the Vantage looks better. For one thing, I don’t think the air intakes in the front bumper in the DB9 match with the shape of the car and I also don’t like the way that when you’re looking at it from the view of the first photo, it just slopes down suddenly at the back. It makes it look like it has a big boot on the end, but that is just the pictures. I am not saying it looks bad at all, as I wrote it is one of the most beautiful cars in the world but on my list, the Vantage would come just before it or at least be equal. I just like the way the Vantage flows better, there’s no sudden drop at the back from the roof to the boot and I think Aston Martin design transfered very well indeed to a compact shape. Plus, the V12 Vantage is out in the next year or two and considering that it beats all the others to 100 (including the DBS), I think that will be the pick of the bunch. Reviewers are already saying that it’s the best car they’ve ever built.

No argument Aston makes some of the sexiest cars in the world… but does anyone else have trouble telling one from the other? When I see an AM flash past I’m never quite sure if it’s a DB9, DBS, V8 Vantage etc…

Methinks I need to see a few more in public to improve my carspotting skills. Though I reckon the Maserati GranTurismo gives the DB9 a good run for its money, sexiness-wise – I’ll be spending my lotto winnings on the GT over the AM.

DB9 is quite literally on the top of my list of ‘favourite cars’. i was meant to go in a gunmetal volante for yr10 formal, but it was sold a couple of weeks prior to the event – i was near suicidal. haha.

i hate white. hate it. but ask anyone who knows me, and my favourote colour on cars is pearl white – bit hypocritical, but there really is a major difference imo. pearl white is just elegant and classy.

if it was a lighter brown it would look better, as my fave colour combo is pearl white with saddle brown leather – not everyones taste but i love it.

great review, stunning car.

maybe when im an architect in sydneys northern suburbs in the next 15years i’ll buy one. haha

I agree about the white, I dont think I’ve ever seen a new car look even close to as good as this does in white. I dont think its the best looking car in the world, but it does look awesome.
