Anyone know if the Tiguan could fit 3 carseats along the back? We need about 150cm width. Rang the VW dealership and without having the car there yet (release expected first week of June), they weren't sure as they didn't have measurements...

I called in at the VW stand at the Melbourne Motor Show and had a good look at the Tiguan on display and picked up the 1 page brocurbo petrol. with pricing. VW will have 2 diesel versions + 1 petrol. These will be 103kw TDI, 125kw TDI and 145kw turbo. The prices range from $32'000 to $43'000 + on roads and options. In typical style the cars have a lot of standard features but the option are very pricey. The leather option was just above $3'500. The car was beautifully finished inside + out and was fully optioned with leather, sunroof (it is huge and is about 2/3 the roof length) sat nav and premium sound. The dash comes from the European Golf Plus and looks brilliant. The only problems I can see was that the car has a space saver spare (you cannot fit a full sized wheel in the boot), the boot a very small (not much bigger than Golf) and the petrol engine is 98 premium only. VW report that they have taken over 600 cash deposits already and they say that cars will be hard to get for the first 12 months due to the massive sales in Europe and USA. The VW websites in the UK and USA have some great information and you can download full brochures well ahead on the May/June launch here in Australia. Yes I have ordered mine!

Hi from Greece. I have a question about the sunroof in Tiguan. Here in Greece we have a lot of sun and it gets really hot sometimes like in Australia.Have you seen how it works with the curtain? Does it protect good enough? Here in Greece the sales representative have no idea about that and I don't want to buy a car on speculations...
Thanx in advance

I currently have the Jetta and love the big mean grill apart from the other great features.
I have looked at the Tiguan however ashame that is does not have the large vented grill like the Jetta which would make it stand out from the competitors. Will still have a look at it when it hits Australia.

The new Tiguan is what Australia needs. We live on a dirt road,(NSW) like european cars and don't have much choice in SUV's in the lower price range.
So we do hope that Australians won't miss out on this great car.

Hi Erica Salih,

I'm not sure if you check this website at all. Give me a call at Osborne Park Volkswagen here in Perth. I have just received word from Volkswagen and can order a Tiguan for you to be ready in April of 2008 :-)

Cheers,

I am counting down the days in anticipation that the VW Tuguan will be available in Perth in 2008. VW in Perth are not very positive or enthusiastic. As for me I cannot wait for this to be my next car.

Looks great. Just what I'm looking for. What about it VW Australia? I'd order one now if I knew they were coming and with a diesel engine. Please keep me up to date with any news on the Tiguan arriving on these shores.
