2011 Porsche 911 spied
November 28, 2008 by George Skentzos
Unlike previous encounters with the next-generation Porsche range, the new 911 has been spied boasting some rather extensive and elaborate camouflage.
Porsche is obviously keen to keep the design of the new 911 under wraps for as long as possible, having added several red herrings into the mix.
Initial impressions would most likely discern this was the 911 Turbo, however closer inspection reveals the side vents to be nothing more than stickers.
The rear wing – despite its high-mount tail lamp – is just a prop, disguising the true form of the new 911’s rear end.
The new-generation 911 will almost certainly feature the same range of naturally-aspirated and boosted flat-six engines, with the addition of Porsche’s new PDK dual-clutch transmission.
Internally referred to as the 998, the new 911 is expected to replace the current model in 2011.

Much bigger headlights by the look….
Intake stickers look great….
I think its great what Porsche is doing in not letting people see there true design is great its better than the other car companies. I wish they would bring back the days when they would badge the car as other makers like Bentley using Rolls Royce grills and badges.
why change thing that is so successful over 40 odd years. and everyone regconise it instantly.
I love the hypocrisy.
Porsche get applauded for staying true to the brand, yet Ford get criticised for not making enough changes to a classic looking car.
Different market I suppose.
Frugal You took the EXACT words out of my mouth..Very true indeed though.
And as for “why change thing that is so successful over 40 odd years” they only reason it was succesful because their was nothing else to buy, just another porsche that looked the same….
Porsche are kidding thinking they have any reason to use cammo aren’t they??? They could drive any new model out in public and nobody would ever know.
No I don’t think it actually is a 911, to me it really looks like a 911.
Dunno what the fuss is with the camo. Type Porsche 911 2001 into google images and you’ll see one on the road in germany undisguised.
Meet the new 911, same as the old 911.
Has anyone noticed the size of those rear wheels there huge
The problem with 911’s are that they are to common.
Together with the fact that the other german companies are making similar [and better] performance vehicles for even $100,000 less.Even the Aussie R8/F6 have simlar performance.
Still selling very very strong so can understand why they dont want to tamper with the formula
