The 2009 facelift has already been introduced on the Coupe, Cabrio, Targa and most recently Turbo models in the 911 range, seemingly with the GT3 RS being the next to make its official debut.

The facelifted GT3 RS will keep its trademark features such as the “GT3 RS” side stickers, matching coloured wheels and side mirrors, racing stripe, rear wing endplates and roll cage.

From these spy shots we can also see that the new GT3 RS has gained the red seat belts which are becoming an increasingly familiar feature of the range.

Mechanically, the facelifted model is expected to be identical to its predecessor, sharing the same 305kW 3.6-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six engine.

With only subtle aerodynamic modification, the GT3 RS is expected to maintain its current top-speed of 311km/h and a zero to 100km/h time of around 4 seconds.

Not even a slight redesign?…Direct Injection?

  2. Alan says:

actually the question i most wonder about is PDK or not?

  3. WVB says:

peel the RS decals of an 07 and test that.
A 5 year old one wouldn’t look any different and savings would buy an EVO.
    still yummy though.

  4. Vespertilio says:

woow, they’ve changed the rear lights… sorry but that’s boring already. It looks exactly (?) the same as the previous one (except the rear lights of course).

  5. Gradski says:

I’m not sure if I can see the rollcage in these photos… Perhaps this is just the standard GT3 and not the RS model?

  6. juggsy says:

No wonder Clarkson calls Porsche the “Worlds laziest car company”. They have cars from 1981 that if you would just change wheels would look like a 1998 model.

These GT3’s all look the same from 2000, don’t get it, looks like they are scared of messing with the legend. This M3 baby poo colour is shocking thought, hope its just a proto paint, not for the standard production cars.

  7. Stevo the Devo says:

Seen one – seen ‘em all!!!

  8. Alan says:

Juggsy, what about Aston Martin? Every production aston since DB7 has looked pretty much the same.

Having said that, i do hope at least the spoiler will look different in the production version as this looks very similar to the current GT3. From 996 GT3 Mk1 to Mk2, they at least changed the front lights and the spoilers, not just some subtle modification to the shape of the rear lights

  9. dubai says:

this is not the RS but the new GT3: RS has a bigger wing and is wider
