The Toyota RAV4 Altitude special edition has been released presenting Australian SUV customers with more features and value.

Based on the 2WD and AWD RAV4 four-cylinder CV models, the Toyota RAV4 Altitude special edition is being offered as a 2WD Altitude SE variant, with either a five-speed manual or four–speed automatic transmission, or automatic-only AWD Altitude SE. Both models carry the same 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 125kW and 224Nm.

Starting at $29,990 for the 2WD variant – $1000 more than the 2WD manual RAV4 CV – the Toyota RAV4 Altitude special editions see features including satellite navigation, reverse parking sensors and five 17-inch alloy wheels added on top of the standard CV equipment level.

Silver roof rails, front foglights, privacy glass and an ‘Altitude’ exterior badge spec up the exterior, while the cabin receives a premium steering wheel and gear knob, 6.1-inch LCD touchscreen audio unit, and USB and Bluetooth connectivity with telephone and audio streaming functionality.

As in the entire RAV4 range, the Toyota RAV4 Altitude models come standard with vehicle stability control, traction control, anti-skid brakes and hill-start assist. Models fitted with automatic transmissions models also include downhill assist control.

Only 2000 RAV4 Altitude special editions will be built, available in five exterior colour choices: Pearlescent White Crystal Pearl; Silver Pearl; Graphite; Ebony; Wildfire.

The Altitude special edition will be a last hurrah for the third-generation RAV4, with the all-new fourth-generation model set to hit local showrooms in the first quarter of 2013.

I think anyone who purchases the I-4 rav4 over the very good V6 rav4 must be very stupid

    • ABCDEFG

Not everyone drives at 100mph, not that the 4cyl RAV4 can’t do 100mph.

      • Henry Toussaint

         Kilometers***

        • Able

          Kilometres ***

          • Henry Toussasint

             I’m pretty Retarded aren’t I…..

          • Nasal Explorer

Yes, you can’t even spell your user name the same in 2 consecutive posts.

          • Henry Toussaint

Nasal, I may have knocked it when typing ‘A’ as you can see the ‘S’ is right next to the ‘A’…

          • Noddy of Toyland

            Henry pls

      • Xxz

But have you ever driven the V6 Rav4? that thing flies like a rocket!!

how many SUVs in that price range are that fast?

        • tw

Pity the chassis can’t handle that much power making it dangerous to drive.

      • Nasal Explorer

        100mph = 160kph. I think ABCDEFG knows what he’s talking about.

    • sean t

      You’re so smart Xxz.

  • Zaccy16

The only people that would buy a car as dated as this would no nothing about cars and not have looked around at all!  a CX5, tiguan or a Yeti with its clever seats are much much more up to date better options!

    • sean t

Don’t buy it Zaccy. You’re so smart!

    • LN

Zaccy, the only people who are stupid enough to buy the current dated model Rav 4 brand new are the Filipinos, living and working in Blacktown and having a Filipino girlfriend, the amount of them buying current dated Corollas and Rav 4 is really outstanding.

Plus the Rav 4 is still sporting an old school 4 speed auto and 5 spd manual. Toyota are like Apple, they both need to get with the times and update.

CX5 and the XV are proving to be great value.

      • Zaccy16

Well said! People are so gullable

        • Nasal Explorer

*gullible* and what’s wrong with Filipino’s?

      • Frankie

“Toyota are like Apple, they both need to get with the times and update.”

Why? Last time I looked, they were both profitable companies.

This needs a revamp so desperately.. I can’t stand looking at it!

  • crouchy35

“6.1-inch LCD touchscreen audio unit, and USB and Bluetooth connectivity with telephone and audio streaming functionality.”

ALSO INCLUDED IS FULLY FUNCTIONING AM/FM RADIO!!!!!!!

  • F1

Yeah the Rav4 V6 is very fast, too fast

    • James Cortez

There is no such thing as too fast. The more powerful the engine the better it is. Look at the new F-150. 6.2 lt engine is still available. Dodge RAM still offers 5.8 lt. More power!

  • as

    No side air bag?

    • TG

Altitude is based on the poverty pack CV, no side/curtain/driver knee bags (optional on the CV, but doesn’t even look like an option on this Altitude, lol).

As per usual, Toyota Australia stretching out their cost-cutting exercises as long as possible like they did with the old Yaris YR.

New model RAV will probably have all bags standard across all variants.

  • Mwanamfumu

which one is best here model?
