Several images of the updated Honda CR-Z have been revealed in a teaser video ahead of the car’s unveiling at this month’s Paris motor show.

The video from the Japanese manufacturer shows flashes of updated styling tweaks soon to be seen in full when the new Honda CR-Z hybrid – a car that can trace its roots back to the Honda CR-X from the ’80s – is revealed in Paris on September 27.

The footage highlights a new headlight design featuring LED daytime running lights, a new wheel design and, most interestingly, a ‘Sport +’ button – seen on the car for the first time.

The existing CR-Z’s 91kW/174Nm electrically supported 1.5-litre four-cylinder carried a ‘Sport’ mode but this new ‘Sport +’ button could hint at a more enthusiastic option for keen, but still green-conscious, drivers.

Sure it doesn’t sell well…hardly anyone drive that on the road…

Why Wheels named it “Car Of The Year 2011″ beats me. I haven’t seen many anywhere and when I do, I want to throw a cover over it :/

    • Zaccy16

I think it was named car of the year because it is a hybrid that has the normal virtues of a hybrid eg. fuel economy, good on the enviroment but it is fun to drive because of great steering and handline, looks sporty and has a proper manual transmission

It was named COTY because it met all the COTY criteria more convincingly than any other car competing that year. It’s very likely that the 86/BRZ twins will win the award for this year as we can start to see the new direction wheels is moving with their awards.

Why would anyone choose this over a Veloster?

I think the main reason this failed was due to the Veloster lol

This or a 86/BRZ would be awesome to have

So why hasn’t the CRZ sold well?

    • Guest

Too expensive and with very limited packaging. Have you tried to sit in the back? At least the Veolster is bearable. The 86/BRZ isn’t helping its case either. If Honda had stopped dithering for the last decade and brought us a slightly larger version of this sooner and at the right price they may have been a great seller. No issues with the ride, performance and handling… buyers care more about space and price!
