Mercedes-Benz has released a teaser of a sculpture that hints at the design language of the next-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

Simply called “Aesthetics S”, the artistic glimpse is a way for Mercedes-Benz to show off its future design direction, which generally starts from the top with a new S-Class before filtering down to the company’s other models.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has always emphasised the pinnacle of the German manufacturer’s ability to innovate and push the boundaries in automotive design and engineering and the company is intending to stick with traditions.

In many ways, the S-Class is viewed industry wide as the ultimate in automotive engineering, a car that sets the benchmark for the rest to follow. In the past, it has featured new technological features that have gone on to become standard fit across most other brands.

Gorden Wagener, head of design at Mercedes-Benz Cars says the “characteristic lines of the S-Class have always represented the expression of automotive culture, as we understand it. The new S-Class will continue this tradition and, with its striking lines, will put a face to our design philosophy over the coming years.”

The sculpture’s reveal will be one of the main acts for Mercedes-Benz at this month’s Paris Motor Show.
