Yummy, I love Maserati, the upcoming models should be crackers.

I do not like the sound of this being a ‘direct replacement’ of the 2+2 Coupe. The 2+2 Coupe and Cabrio could do with some of the features mentioned for this model. There is room for both configurations

no way it will replace 2+2. Maserati factory is inside Modena city limits so can’t be expanded. New Quattroporte big and (new) medium models are moving to ex-Bertone factory near Milan,  as volume will be too high for the Modena factory (which can’t expand). So Maserati need to add volume back into Modena factory or they will have industrial trouble / lose experienced staff, This will be an additional model to be built after the Alfa model is no longer built, or maybe in parallel. I was in Modena just recently, and it is almost certain to happen.

can’t believe what a stupid article this was … a carbon fibred chassis is going to replace the current 2+2 range ? … the most idiotic reporting I’ve read for ages … the joke was this twaddle was picked by 1/2 the world’s media as gospel. What we got of course was another Grancabrio type model … chasing volume for the Modena factory …
Modena models are going to get the same Chrysler derived chassis as the new Quattroporte and Ghibli models in Turin to REDUCE costs … not send them to Venus ….
anyway as I said b4 this supercar will almost certainly happen, they need volume at Modena … as the Quattroporte has moved elsewhere. Hopefully it will be achingly beautiful like the Bora and Merak … not look like a kitcar copy of a Lotus like the Alfa 4C …Â
