Awww Alex - c0cked up there a bit dude. The HSV and FPV's are just pure Australian character. Not to all tastes but proven to be better than much of the Yank tosh. Having watched Top Gear series 12 Ep 2 with Hammond Clarkson and May driving around in lovely big motors (Corvette, Dodge thingy and a Caddy) i'm sold. Pity fuel is petrol is AU$2.32/litre in the motherland.

Another post, another Eurosnob regurgiting the same ole' 'argument', it is getting quite tedious.

I bet Alex have neither driven any of the 'tasteful' cars that he loves so dearly nor the 'tacky' aussies.

How about we just appreciate the fact that both Ford & Holden are able to develop and sell these amazing machines that the average bloke can enjoy? Not everyone can afford, or indeed want an M3, RS4 or C63.

You're kidding Alex! Try comparing apples with apples you drongo... you just sound like a knob trying to stage arguments like that.

BTW: have you driven the new GT & F6? - I bet not.

Alex,
I prefer subtle to 'over the top', however the C63 isn't exactly subtle either with its bodywork.

They could always strap a saddle to the roof and use a long rope tied to the steering wheel as 'reigns'. Kind of like in that Mr Bean episode.

Completely agree with you on the 'over-the-top' nature of FPV/HSV cars Alex, but a BMW X5 isn't exactly the last word in good taste subtlety either.

Well I hope he does trade in his X5. Anybody who would prefer a fast ford to a BMW doesn't deserve to own a BMW. I think the problem with cars like this (inc. HSV) is that they have no taste what so ever. They're all shouty body kits and bright lary colours. The M3 is taste full (in certain configurations) and the Audi RS4 is. So is the C63 and alot of others (not the IS F). FPVs and HSVs are never understated. Its like that thing that an M3 can only be cool if you get it de-badged and in an understated colour. Theses cars literally say FPV all over them and its quite tacky. As for the spoilers - oh dear.
