G'Day LH

The quality of the plastics in the Sorento is right up there...The layout of the dash is a little conservative & boring, but it's functional at the same time. The Diesel is a pearler of an engine, however the suspension is pretty lame. Aftermarket gear is available to fix the suspension.

Go check one out for a laugh. I think you'll be surprised as hell by how well built these things have become. I was originally in the market for a Prado/Pajero but changed my mind when I saw a Sorento in the flesh.

Zool, so how do you find the Sorento? I imagine the interior quality would be a step down from the Hondas? I've never actually gone to check one out but others on this site keep talking about how good the Koreans are getting.

Cheers.

Tim, agree with you 100%. The 'Real time' 4x4 mode is a joke.

I had a CRV which I traded in for a Kia Sorento Diesel. Don't miss the Honda one little bit (we have 4 Honda's in our family, and these will be our last). The only thing Honda had going for them was reliability. Guess what, the Koreans have caught up, and offer better bang for buck. Honda on the other hand...Less cars being made in Japan, more being made in Thailand...

It's very appealing, but its off-road capability sucks (Yes, I'm one of those 1% who takes their soft-roader off road). And the exterior image is meh. Though I really like its interior!
