The premium in silver colour adds to $164,400 with taxes and rego, the dealer delivery is 7K-8K since they say its 172K on-the-road. It is the most expenive car wash and vacuuming in the world hahaha. I still want to see how they can justify the dealer delivery costs, its not like they don't already earn their fair share of money when the car gets sold.
Which ever way you look at this, the GT-R will not be some precious, rare car so the price will plummet pretty quick, especially with Nissan bringing the new model every year. Series II is already being sold in Japan, great, and we still get the leftover Series I's. Its a car and a half but I still reckon it's 20K overpriced in our market.

I can't wait to see this thing driving around :D
It is a pitty that Ruddy put that 33% tax on "Luxury Cars" :|
Is he trying to make it so that he is the only one with a Luxury car? :(

GTR retail price in jap r cost 30% less if Aussie $ r strong. How come in Aus dealer charge heaps? I dont think shipping cost and tax cost that much.

Ivan, $30K for a new gearbox for a GTR is not bad considering the car.

I hear the DSG gearboxes in VW Golfs are $15K if they pop. Half or more the price of the car in some circumstances.

My apologies Flying High i missed that. Victory we have tried that in the past and we had people confused and or going to another dealer that only advertised list price thinking they were cheaper it was just as annoying. Both ways have their pros and cons...

Flying High - You have a good point. Surely somethings could be changed about how the prices are advertised. Maybe both the RRP and the driveaway price in it's state.

Boggy - as I said "full drive away cost in the state in which it is registered"

In just about any other industry, it would be completely unacceptable that a person calls a retailer, asks for a price and is told to come-on-in and we will talk about it.

It is a shame that so many crap car-salesman/dealerships spoil it for the so few good ones.

I remember the origonal MX5, people where selling there place in the wait-q!

Dont know if the will manage to sell the fully 200 units in 09', but all things considered i would say NISSAN would be stocked with that!

Flying High and Ivan, the reason the dealers need to advertise new cars without the on road costs is because the manufacturers acvertise the list prices of their cars nationally and the on road costs vary from state to state in Australia and the reason why they can charge over the recommended retail price is exactly that, it's "recomended"
Nothing wrong with making a profit occasionally especially in our industry. Remember when you had to pay $1000 for a Sony PS3, now they are $600. It's business, it's called supply and demand.

I agree with Flying High. They should advertise full drive away costs, just like airlines are now forced to advertise full ticket and taxes/fuel costs.

Although I would get an M3 instead of this. I heard the GT-R is extremely high maintenance. Also, if you disable the TCS (traction control), any warranty is void!!! So much for the superfast launch....if the gearbox breaks, that's $30k out of your own pocket.

There is no doubt the Nissan dealers are taking the mickey. The STi dealers did the same things when the new STi came out, priced at over 71K on the road in NSW, and now look. You can buy a demo Spec R for 57K driveaway with 7K on the clock. The same will be true of the Evo. These 'extra' costs are ludicrous. I cannot understand how the new car industry is still permitted to advertise the cost of the car without disclosing the whole price. They should be forced to advertise full drive away cost in the state in which it is registered.
