looks the same… the visual designers are sleeping again… I might switch job to do that.

5 stars is good but i wish they give something more to stand out, as it’s already a standard for Subie and the better model of Hi-and-die i30.

from the side profile, the 6 looks very close to the 5.
I prefer the front of the 5 gti compared to the 6 gti.
the lack of the big audi/hsv427 joined-grille makes it look like an earlier model. still nice, but good thing about the 6 is it’s going to make the 5′s price drop considerably. good news for everyone on a tight budget!

Wheelnut, agree with your comment but this golf is starting to make me think the Porcshe 911 designers had input into this car, looks too much like the MkV.
I know ppl are gonna say its an evolution but when are German designers gonna take a chance.
By the way i do like the Golf and VW in general.

With a car that looks as good as this and is as well built as this; with the power performance and handling like this has as many [safety] features as this etc [not to mention the street cred]…. I can’t understand why so many people buy Corollas??

Alex, tend to agree with you on the survival of the biggest. Although the ratings do give Joe Bloggs something to feel warm and fuzzy about when he is trying to protect his family. But I reckon more money should be spent on crash avoidance systems.
Also this pedestrian protection measurement is a joke. FFS If you get hit by a car, it is going to hurt. If the car is going reasonable fast (50k/hr or more) you may well want to be dead instead of on life support forever.
Sorry, but really?

Not all that surprising considering the last one got five stars. I think the problem still is that a car can get a fantastic crash test but EuroNCAP recently put a very high scoring five star Fiat 500 up against a four star Audi Q7 and the Audi came out on top by far. I think car companies should be focusing on crash protection against SUVs.
