Beautiful looking car!
This is the futuristic land cruiser! I know Toyota has a long history for this type of vehicle and are more reliable but gee, do they even use the word style or design in their development briefs? I think the diesel is very good value for what you get, for an Audi that is, and the best for emission level as well.
Had mine for just on 2 years and been very happy. One problem with bad contacts in the box controlling the hydraulic suspension left me stranded last week, but quickly towed and fixed. Awesome to drive, comfort levels high especially on trips, and arguably the best and most logical function controls on the console. The sixth and seventh seat are exceptionally wide although access for mid teens and over can be tricky (better leg room here than competitors).
Towing a fully loaded trailer down and up a steep creek bed was no dramas due to high-lift function. Reversing cameras with guides are awesome, even at night, and alround visibility is outstanding. Xenon headlights not as good as BMW and the steering linked swivel action is of little use as it does not function at low speeds where it is more needed.
Scintillating V8 performance will surprise many at the lights, and consumption is heaps better than the Cruisers and Patrols, but averaging 13.5L/100km is a little disappointing for a German pedigree. Highway cycle is slightly better at 11L/100km if gently driven between 90 and 100kmh, but jumps up again if averaging 110kmh, which surprises for an autobahn bred vehicle.
When comparing, the Q7 outdid the aging BMW X5 and ran circles around the M Class, Lexus and Rovers. Best features – adjustable hydraulic suspension, hands-free keyless entry and start, sheer size for carrying passengers and materials, reversing camera and sensors, and Audi’s refined, beautifully finished and very practical interior layout.
Not looking at replacing for some time – nothing out there is even close!
Massive engine bay!
One of the best-looking SUV’s ever. Love it to deaf. Gorgeous interior. Great engines. Would consider buying one when i’m older. Go Holden!
I know there is this idea about reliability issues with some of the Audi stuff, but really most of it is electronic. When someone offers a car with so many electronic aided gadgetry, there is bound to be the odd issue. Take it from someone in electronics even the best producers have problems with their products.
