Robj, good to see your up with recent times..
Tall poppy syndrome hits again.

Interesting to note how one brand, the fastest growing manafactuer in the world, can continue to grow, by becoming the 5th largest in the world, and quality ranked among the best, yet somehow only be building "cheap plastic disposable consumer goods". can you explain?

Why anyone would buy a Hyundai is totally beyond me. All nice and shiny in the showroom, look at them in 3 years. I'd rather a second hand quality brand to this cheap plastic disposable consumer goods.

Good point Carl!

In the seventies and early eighties the decentralisation of Industry was all the buzz.

With Internet and telecoms what they are should be more doable than ever.

Unfortunately I think it's a case of the Captains not wanting to make it easier for their minions more than anything.

Carl
Where else would a car company be most at home than in an area where the public transport infrastructure is non-existent?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The building is right next to the new Macquarie Park train station. I just wish they would hurry up and get the trains running through already.

Green building but not green location. It's situated in an utterly gridlocked spot in Sydney, melting pot between Epping Rd, the M2, Lane Cove Rd and right after Optus moved into the area just recently.

In its defence the new train network is opening up to pass on the same block from Chtswood to Mac Uni, but I can't help but wonder if the Green building is an excellent idea in possibly one of the WORST spots in Sydney to consider driving to. Cars sit and idle in traffic and driving from Concord to Macquarie can take up to 45 minutes in the morning, for a trip that should take 10-15 minutes in normal times.

So much for decentralisation!!!

I normally have a lot of time for Hyundai and it's more recent offerings HOWEVER it would have been nice to see such a forward thinking company like this one put it's new HQ in a regional city and not just continue to add stress to and over populated and under infra structured city like Sydney!!!
