Mazda6: new sedan revealed in teaser trio

The soon-to-be-released third-generation Mazda6 has been partially revealed in three separate teaser videos from Mazda.

The first video highlights the new front-end of the Mazda6 showing the badge, grille and headlight. The second shows off some profile lines from the front quarter panel to the side mirror, while the third video exposes the tail-lights at the rear of the car and gives a brief look at the four doors from a rear left quarter position.

The teasers make clear that the car will definitely take inspiration from the Mazda Takeri concept seen at the 2011 Tokyo motor show in November but all will be revealed in September when the new Mazda6 sedan makes its world premiere at the Paris motor show.

CarAdvice's spy photographers, who recently snapped the Mazda6 wagon testing in Europe, expect the wagon variant to be officially unveiled ahead of the sedan debuting at the 2012 Moscow motor show next month.

Both sedan and wagon variants of the new Mazda6 will be continue with Mazda's SkyActiv philosophy meaning efficient petrol and diesel engines, a newly developed six-speed automatic transmission and 'i-ELOOP' regenerative braking technology will combine with a stop-start function to see a reduction in fuel consumption by up to 10 per cent.

The next-generation Mazda6 sedan and wagon will not be joined by the popular hatch variant, having been dropped from the line-up, when sales begin in Australia early in 2013, but development of a 'four-door coupe' version is said to be underway with an intended launch date sometime in 2014.
