2010 Audi A7 CGI
October 28, 2008 by Matt Brogan
In yet another four door coupe offering from Germany this morning, our graphic artist has sent us a lone pic of AUDI’s gorgeous A7, due for release in 2010.
The A7 will, for obvious reasons, be similar in size to that of Volkswagen’s stunning new Passat CC. The shorter rear door attesting to that fact.
The flowing lines of the coupe-sedan seem to be increasingly appealing in Germany with four of the countries top brands now releasing similar designs. The A7 will be based on the A6 platform and utilise aluminium (with steel reinforcement in key areas) to reduce weight.
Engines begin with a 2.8-litre V6 FSI with optional 3.0-litre V6 on the petrol front with diesel models said to include a 2.7-litre TDI (single turbo) or 3.0-litre TDI (twin turbo).
Meanwhile the range topping RS7 will feature air suspension and a 5.0-litre twin turbo V10 which will be shared by the S7, albeit slightly detuned. A hybrid version is also expected to be made available shortly after initial release.

By far the most balanced and best looking out of the three (BMW, Merc & Audi). Nice!
you people do realise that the bmw, merc and the audi are only ‘artist impressions’?
Thanks Chris, I was starting to wonder… these photo’s aren’t exactly the most convincing in the world, plus I cannot understand why the images would be circulating so far out from the launch of the vehicle.
For the life of me I can’t see why we bother publishing artists impressions of these cars when they are 2 years out and the artist is basically guessing what they’ll look like given that no real test mules have been spotted. I mean spy photo’s of the test mules are great, they give you a peak at how the car is shaping up, but an artists CGI impression, might as well ask my 4 yr old son to draw what they’ll look like, it’ll be just as accurate.
It’s been done for years, Genie. Have a look at Mark Stehrenberger’s speculative drawings that appeared in WHEELS over 2 decades. His were done by hand. I guess he’s joined a CAD outfit by now.
It’s also exactly what the do with concept/new cars…they show these great awesome looking cars and say they will be the next model of this/that, then when the bring the dam thing out it has so many changes it aint the awesome car you saw….well thats what i think anyhow…
Well I dont like that. Thankfully, I doubt it’ll look much like that. I think it will be rounder and have more elements of the A5. I wonder when well see something like this from BMW? I can’t believe there isn’t one already – seems like the perfect shape to adapt flame surfacing into.
Er Alex BMW have the 6 series.
Nothing wrong with Artist impressions, i’s imagine its useful for the manufacturers to gain what people like and whether they are likely to be in demand. However I think these coupe saloons have missed the financial mark with current credit issues.
Oh I like it by the way but as my comments on the BMW they style marks are down, its typical current Audi. Nice but not going forward.
To Cupid Stunt Aka No Name – I don’t know if you’ve ever noticed but the BMW 6 Series only has two doors which means that it isn’t a competitor for this.
