I own a Subaru Liberty Heritage 1995 ( imported as far as I know). I was told I can run it on E10 petrol. So I filled it twice in 6 weeks with E10 to try it out. After the second time my car developed a starved petrol type of symptom.AS if dirty petrol is coming up through the fuel injectors.?
I have ceased using it but it still misses a bit when I excell to climb a hill or when taking of at lights.?Its not as bad as before but the problem seems to be there in a mild form.
I would very much appreciate a professional opinion about using E10 on my vehicle. Can you suggest what I can put through the petroltank to eliminate any residue of ethanol?

Thank you

Go figure with fuels, if someone didnt know about the RON ratings or the sediments that exist within fuels, or the half a dozen contaminents that consumers can get in their fuel, we'd be all mad about now trying to understand it all...

I had a bad go with Caltex to which my new car was pretty unhappy about their 91 Ron fuel going into my Suzuki Jimny, the compression ratio is 9.0-1 and its a 1.3 liter... Little did i realise that the filler lid stated that it needs to be run off 95... Caltex done the 'we dont care' on me and that was that, even when the Suzuki Mechanics were stating that they are safe to be run on 91 RON... Whats this got to do with anything, well quality of fuel and the fuel itself... Had no further issues using 91 RON BP...

Now I see that Shell is displaying in quiet large and plain lettering that their individual fuels have RON ratings plainly displayed at the bowsers... And the difference between Unleaded of 91 RON and the Unleaded with E10 is 94 RON. Now its the chance to see wether this table is really true that the new Suzuki Jimny will run on this stuff and to ultimatly see wether there is any performance benefit to using the higher RON fuel with Ethonol, god hopeing that my engine doesnt go pop...

Well I'll eventually see wether there is any benefit in paying 3 cents less at the bowser and see wether the truth that ethonol is 3 cents less in performance...

Fingers crossed!!!

All petrol containing ethanol should be labeled even 5 percent, can damage older carby fitted cars. All historic motor vehicles are at risk from un labeled ethanol blended fuel.

Hi, I have been using ethanol in my ford festiva for the past 2years. I was unware that the festiva model is not suitable to ethanol fuels. Recently the car has experienced problems due to the fuel that contains the ethanol. I was well unaware of this till this occured and feel neglected by petrol stations not informing consumers of the dangers of putting incorrect fuel in your car. I might be ignorant to the fact but there are no warnings or information regarding the damage of ethanol in certain cars.
