Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake teaser video

Coming hot on the heels of Merc’s unveiling of the standard CLS Shooting Brake earlier this week, the high-performance variant will sit at the top of the line-up alongside the existing CLS63 AMG ‘four-door coupe’.

Mercedes-Benz Australia has confirmed the CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake will join the local line-up, with its showroom debut expected a few months after the arrival of the rest of the Shooting Brake range in November/December.

Like its sleek sedan sibling, the CLS63 AMG is powered by a 5.5-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine with 386kW and 700Nm of torque. With a seven-speed automatic transmission sending drive to the rear wheels, the CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake is expected to sprint from 0-100km/h in around 4.5 seconds.

The CLS Shooting Brake benefits from the usual AMG enhancements, including 19-inch black alloy wheels, AMG ride control sports suspension, high-performance brakes, quad-pipe sports exhaust system, and hardcore exterior styling with a prominent badge and aggressive front air intakes.

Standard driver-assist safety systems include active blind spot assist, active lane keeping assist, and Distronic Plus active cruise control with Pre-Safe autonomous braking system.

The Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake will command a slight premium over the standard CLS63 AMG when it arrives in Australia. The CLS AMG sedan is currently priced from $263,500 before on-road costs.
