I live a hundred meters from the M2 and honestly say that only compression braking is an issue. It’s the speed camera about 300 meters away that gets the truckies on the skids. There is no excuse for it on such an open stretch of the motorway. Safety is not an excuse in flat suburban areas.

Legislators are baffoons increase gross weights on trucks then remove their ability to slow that vehicle down when necessary, use the brakes you say? brakes get hot pulling up 68 ton I drive a truck and also ride a harley frustrated by people in cars cutting in front of me in my truck as I approach a downhill intersection with my jake brake on so that I can still have time not to kill them when they change lanes then jump on their brakes cos they just had to be in front of the truck. As for the Harley what a relief I can accelerate with a bit of noise to get away from the dickhead in front that has a panic attack because my bike is noisier than their boom box

I live next to a freeway and yes there is noise but the freeway was there before the house i am in so i have to except it and so should every one else that moved to a house next to a major road.
To much winning in this world get a life.

just be prepared to face up to some gruesome carnage as cars are squashed because the ignorant fools driving them do stupid things in front of 50 ton of truck . because the truck can no longer brake safely using the saftey feature as someone misbehaves in front of him , it’s going to happen , i hope you all like the sight of blood on the 6 oclock news , because you’re guaranteed to see more of , hey , maybe even some wonderful decapitations , are you ready for it ,,,,,,,?

How many times have you been nearly hit by a push bike, tram or Toyota Prius, becuase they dont make noise.

Loud pipes save lives, mine, certainly on motorcycles,(although I agree the harley drone is a bit annoying) Where you have blind motorist try and run motorcycles off the road, changing lanes running lights, turning in front of you and all the rest an exhaust note make them pay attention.

I have classic cars that are not required to meet DB laws how does this cover me off? Also I was pinged for noise and made to pay and take a DB test with my dead stock current model car, it passed JUST under the DB limit and NOTHING had been modified, go figure.

I agree with Mr Sensible revenue raising is king.

Get rid of the push bikes off our roads or at least register and licence the riders them so they can start paying for benefiting from our taxes

Half of you people buy a house on a main road and complain about trucks, live near the airport and complain about noisy planes… live near a train station then whinge about trains… who gives a crap about a little noise… go live in the country if it’s such a huge issue to you..

I concur with Bret’s first point. I think that we need to fix our education system first!!

Does ‘Name(Required)’ ride a Harley? (Lots of noise for men with little ..cks)
