Wheelnut, I can only assume you mean either the V50 T5 AWD or the V70 T6 AWD. If you can afford it, spend the extra and get the V70. On the automatic braking system , at this stage its only available on the coming new XC60. However Volvo have a habit of introducing new technology on one model and gradually expanding it across the range - so if you can wait a year or so, the automatic braking system will probably be more widely available across the range. The Bliss system is already available across most models.

The XC90 seems to be quite popular, its actually Volvo's best selling model by far. Anyone have any experience with it, because the 3.2 Executive looks tempting. Although I am interested in the XC60 that is coming out too.

Despite the Ford influence, Volvo still make very good cars. I think their marketing really lets them down in Australia. Famous for their safety, as the whole market moved toward safety a few years ago, they started their commercially insane "Bloody Volvo Driver" campaign. Gave up their safety crown without a fight! Good to see that even crap marketing can't kill a good product range.

There's no such thing as a V60 wagon. Too much model sharing with Volvo now - the S40/V40/C30/C70 are all the same car from the A pillar foward, just different body styles. Meanwhile, the V70 and S80 are essentially the same car as well - the V70 being a wagon version of the S80. This leaves the ancient S60 all alone by itself, which will soon be gone (we can only hope).

Volvos a gradually becoming a more appealing option - my fiance is looking at the new V60 T5 AWD Wagon; but what about the Braking Distance Control System they showed at the Sydney Motor Show and the Blind Spot Alert are they also offered across the range
