Andrew – They could simply move the Cadillac/Chev V8 engine building equipment to Holden Engine Company or bring back the old Holden 5.0 Litre V8.. Sure its not as powerful as the 6.2 LS3 but get WRS or CAPA to bolt on a supercharger and voila..

Yet with engine technology and development etc being what it is today no one really needs a V8 particularly when Fords Turbo 6 produces over 300Kw and the Twin-Turbo V6 to be in the New Torana [Commodore] expected to make 300-320Kw….
I mean Osmans managed to extract over 400Kw out of a WRX

JasonP I do believe that Holden and Opel are two companies that GM should keep.. Holden because of their experience in building RWD cars and likewise with Opel for their history with FWD cars.. as for AWD they could use the same system under the new Insignia

Still funny how The Hummer we get here, is smaller than a Landcrusier, uses less fuel, & well, isn’t exactly the sameas almost every largish 4WD on the road.

Surely there’s room for individuality?

So GM are selling off brands they own that make ugly; crap quality; impractical; inefficient cars that are as aerodynamic as a brick.
If so it means that Cadillac should be next.. until all they are left with is Holden and Opel

I agree Reckless, I can fully understand them wanting to dump Hummer. But wanting to buy Chrysler??? The only thought you could draw from that would be they are S*** scared of the loos GMAC is going to make and that Chrysler looks a better option. (Cerberus owns a Large portion of GMAC and also owns Chrysler)

I have seen hummers as a serious attempt to capture a piece of the 4WD/SUV market. They are just too ostentatiously pretentious and frankly might be better suited to the streets of india or malaysia. hope Taylor likes curry…….
