Clarkson injured in Top Gear smash

During filming for the latest season of Top Gear, host Jeremy Clarkson has survived what he describes as his first serious accident in 31 years.

The British motoring presenter suffered minor injuries to his legs, hand and back following a high-speed head-on collision.

By all reports, it seems he will make a full and rapid recovery, far from the horrifying +500km/h crash which almost claimed the life of colleague Richard Hammond in 2006.

Clarkson has described his injuries to the press in true Top Gear style.

"My right index finger looked like a burst sausage, my left shin was fatter than my thigh and my back felt like someone had driven over it with a pile-driver."

A 'burst-sausage' is also the phrase Clarkson also used to describe the HSV Clubsport R8, coincidence? Well yes, probably.
